[QUOTE="rawsavon"]The Count of Monte Cristo -Alexander DumasWollsCant i just watch the movie? :( No it's no where near as good and interesting as the book is.
Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis
It can at times be a challenging read, but I loved it overall.
Or read The Left Behind Series, they are such great books. Loved em.

I read that recently. Don't get the hype. *shrugs* I've met quite a few people that felt it didn't have much of an iimpact on them. I dunno.

Was Socrates a real person or something? If so, then the story is difficult to believe at best. I just don't think the "tell-it-as-a-story" route was the best way for the author to go if he was trying to tell a history.
A good. basic World Religions textbook. Everyone has so many misconceptions about so many various religions, that I believe it should be mandatory in high school that there not only be a world religions course, but have the entire text as required reading.

The experiences they have do seem a bit embellished, though.
Another book I think is great is Ishmeal.
Is that the Southworth book? Are you asking who the author is? It's by Daniel Quinn.Another book I think is great is Ishmeal.
Is that the Southworth book? Are you asking who the author is? It's by Daniel Quinn. Oh. I was thinking of another book written in the nineteenth century. Very good book, too.GrandJury
This book was great. It was my introduction to the concept of relativity at the age of eight.
The Count of Monte Cristo -Alexander DumasrawsavonExcellent suggestion. I'd also add the Divine Comedy and Paradise Lost.
Hmm...may I count Vergil's Aeneid?
I don't expect everyone to learn Latin to read it in its original text, though of course that's best, but it's just...phenomenal. Reading it for the first time is probably the most enriching literary experience I've had thus far.
(my favorite English translation)
This! In High School I had to study not only catholicism but Islam, Buddism, Judaism, Mormonism and Protestantism. Saying people have misconceptions is an understatement.A good. basic World Religions textbook.
