  1. The Meg - $44.5 Million (new release)
  2. Mission Impossible: Fallout - $20.0 Million
  3. Disney's Christopher Robin - $12.4 Million
  4. Slender Man - $11.3 Million (new release)
  5. BlackkKlansman - $10.7 Million (new release)
  6. The Spy Who Dumped Me - $6.6 Million
  7. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again - $5.8 Million
  8. The Equalizer 2 - $5.5 Million
  9. Hotel Transylvania 3 - $5.1 Million
  10. Ant-Man and the Wasp - $4.0 Million

Kinda of a slow weekend if you ask me, I did however go and watch The Meg (Man I hate the title name) and I was surprise it was good. It's between Jaws & Sharknado that doesn't take itself seriously but an enjoyable movie for an August month. Fallout continues to hold well and has a solid shot at overtaking MI2 to become the highest grossing film in the series domestically. But it also seems to be falling faster than expected overseas, maybe?

August 10-12 mojo's box office weekend

Heh, those sharks movies always seem to do the trick.

From August to November used to be my "going to the movies" time and now at look at it as bittersweet; but that's that.

@Master_Live: Not been to movies for years. Too many people eating stuff and using mobile phones to concentrate on film.

That’s what it’s like here in UK.

I can relate to that. Here in the U.S, we too have the same problem :(

Good for The Meg, nice to see a fun movie do well. Not everything has to be a work of art.

In the UK and the US, it depends on what theater you go to.

Who spends money at the movies just to look at their phone throughout the movie.

@PSP107: Who spends money at the movies just to look at their phone throughout the movie.

You would be surprised.

At first I thought it was just kids but then I noticed people of my generation staring at lit up screens tapping away in the dark. Ah well. It's their money.

Good point. live in a town but used to go to another which has a major multiplex cinema. There has just been one where i live but my friends say it's not that good as it has the same problems.

Is this just a town (city) problem then?

Just out of curiosity do you not live in a city?
