Do you guys go to the gym? If so, how often do you go? If not, do you do any form of physical exercise?

I started going to the gym three weeks ago and I go about 3 times a week, depending on work, for about 45 minutes to an hour. I've found I have a tonne more energy and just a generally better attitude towards life.

Yep. Daily either very very early or on the way home after work depending on my work schedule. My routine's fairly light. An hour plus cooldown on the elliptical plus a scrimmage with either basketball or indoor soccer depending on how many players are there. If it's pretty late already (not many people left to play ball with) I just juggle the soccer ball or practice my foul shots* in basketball.

*Usually, I take 100 foul shots. It sometimes turn into a game because I want to maintain at least 70%. If I'm not too tired after that, I do around the world with the 3-point line. Sometimes I'll play H-O-R-S-E or 21 if there's a few other players at the court.

Home gym. Weight training, rowing, cycling, and running. Aerobic activity every day for about an hour. Weights every other day for about 90 mins.

5 to 6 times a week. I switch off from my cardio/ab routine (around an hour an a half) on one day to upperbody/leg routine (around an hour an fifteen) the other. I'll take a day or two of during the week depending on how I feel and how busy I am.

Haven't had the time as of late with exams and such so I could only get in once a week but now that it's summer I'm hoping to go 3-4 a week.

Not a huge fan of the gym, there are much funner ways to get exercise by doing a sport. Although I may start going this summer as atm I don't have a lot of opportunites to play a sport consistantly + I don't want to become unfit from loafing around the house doing nothing.

Nah, I don't have the cash to afford a membership. If I ever want to go out and exercise, I just go to the local sports track (costs £1 for access) and have a run on there.

I tried the gym but it wasnt for me. I do my training at home. I jog 2-3 miles, do push ups, pull ups, and weights. I've aslo included knife thowing into my routine as an added deadly skill bonus.

In the winter, about 3 times a week for about an hour each time. Do some weights and cardio. In the summer, I'm doing swim team for a total of 3 hours a day, every day, so I don't really need to go to the gym, nor can I.

I go to the workout room, yes. Sadly, it doesn't really help. Metabolism is just too high. I have a hard time putting on any weight, muscle or otherwise.

Yes, all the time, about 4 or 5 times a week, sometimes 6 or 7. I work out for an hour, hour an a half. It feels really good, even the soreness, it feels like progress, like you got something done....

Yea I go to my university's Gym 3-4 times a week, for about 1 hour each time. I run for 10 minutes, then do weight lifting. Its a great activity which I'm really happy to finally be able to do it.

I go every day except Saturday which is my day of rest. Every day I do X+.1 miles, where X stands for how much I ran the day before (up to 6 miles atm), then I do 5 miles on the bike. On MWF in addition to that I do about an hours worth of weight lifting. Needless to say by the time I'm done I'm crawling to my car.

this is so much. I dont have the time to do all of this, like I said, I run for 10 minutes, then continue the rest of the hour weight lifting. I go 3-4 times a week, and I walk a lot during the week, for great distances. IS this good, or should I reconsider?

Your regiment is perfectly fine. It is definitely above the recommended exercise for the average person. As long as you get at least 30 minutes of workout 3 times a week you're fine. My schedule is just over the top because I play a number of sports and have to keep my core up.

I prefer using my department's gym, but Planet Fitness is right down the road, so sometimes I meet my wife there.

I go about four times a week. Every day I do push ups and sit ups, though, and you don't need a gym for that.

I don't know if anyone has told you, but you need 30 minutes of cardio at least three times a week. Just walking or slow jogging on the treadmill won't do anything for you.

Screw cardio. I only do 10 minutes before I lift to warm up. I already require like 6000 calories a day not to lose weight. Last thing I need to do is ramp up my metabolism even more haha.

I understand what you are saying, but man oh man, I hate cardio.

Depends what your goals are really. And that isn't totally true. You don't need that cardio. One could easily get the same amount of exercise at a 6minute pace for 10 minutes as they would a 12 minute pace for 20 minutes. (extended outwards) Also, if your goal is merely to look good cardio isn't even required at all. Enough weight lifting will take care of that. Also, as the above poster pointed out, mixing weight lifting with that much cardio requires you to eat an absurd amount of calories. With my 6+ miles a day I eat a whole pizza, a bowl of macaroni, a bowl of whole grain cereal, a handful of raisens, and a banana all before noon.

5 times a week, 30 minutes of cardio + 30 minutes of weight training. Only started doing this recently though (about 3 weeks now).
