my dad keeps telling me to watch that! he said its one of his favorites. ill rent it this weekend.[QUOTE="sammyjenkis898"][QUOTE="pygmahia5"] Taxi driver!? ugh, i hated that movie. pygmahia5You can't be serious. I just looked at the films you listed, it seems like you're a Robert De Niro fan..and you didn't like Taxi Driver? It's his best role, by far. i love Deniro. but i thought that movie's plot was horrible! maybe i need to see it again and maybe ill appreciate it more but from i remember it was bad. just him being weird towards that girl he liked but didn't end up getting her and freaking her out or something? can't remember. Watch it again. It's very good at building up De Niro's character and showing his emotions and feelings towards women and people. Besides, the majestic shots with jazz music playing in the backround make it worthy of anybody's top ten! :x

It's Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro's best film, and that's saying something.. Scorsese did goodfellas and casino right?
Here is his filmography. He has made so many memorable movies, and yes he did do Goodfellas and Casino.

I'll name stuff that isn't generally know as the greatest of all time like Citizen Kane or Casablanca for the sake of having a little bit of variety:

Sunrise
ernie1989
To add to those...
The Third Man
The Rules of the Game

The Passion of Joan of Arc is incredible, I don't know much about Playtime or Jacque Tati's other films. Whats a good film to introduce me too him?

JackMcSexbeard
Playtime is his best film and it is pretty much agreed about by everyone else who has seen his other films -- it is basically his masterpiece. He uses the same type of humor and the same ideas as before in his other films, but he takes them further. It is also the film that screwed him over for life due to the high production cost and failure at the box office. There is pretty much no difference which one you start with because they are all pretty similar, but Playtime is the one to go for.
