I kid you not.

Seriously. Even Family Guy had a joke in the show about the similarities between Fred and Wilma to Peter and LoisOh good, a fourth animated sitcom that Seth can have star the exact same family once again. :P

Meh...other than Johnny Quest I consider all Hanna-Barbera stuff to be junk anyways so it makes little difference to me what anyone does. The official word is that Seth is not doing a modern take on The Flintstones but merely in charge of basically making new episodes so that may be some sort of comfort for people who actually like the old cartoon.
For those of you getting so upset over this...can't you just avoid it? There are like 800 other channels on TV.
Some people here are overreacting. I'm guessing his version won't be very good but I'll just watch something else. This doesn't "ruin" the old Flintstones.

JML897It kind of does if the new Flintstones are embedded in the culture's subconscious as opposed to the old one, like who's to say that if, in a few years, when someone says "the Flintstones" you won't think of the new one instead of the old one.

I agree with this. I didn't care about the cartoon originally. The puns were sooooo bad.
Frankly I don't understand the logic in reviving a dead franchise with a new person behind the wheel. It'll probably do ok for the first few episodes then quickly shuffle off into obscurity as it becomes stale and un-entertaining.
That being said, if it's a funny show that's entertaining on some level, I'll probably tune in to at least watch a few episodes.
Not like Fox has anything else going for it...

This kinda reminds me of The Terminator Movies.. Started so great, then went to crap when they tried to rejuice the series and then they absolutely killed everything with that TV show.. Now its just LOL
I don't mind seeing a new version of the show, but I'll be pissed if Seth does to it what he did to Family Guy, which was turn it into a huge outlet of his far-left beliefs instead of just keeping it a show you can laugh at for mindless humor. I'll give it a chance to see how it starts out and hope for the best.
Am I the only one who thought the Flinstones sucked to begin with?
Really, nowhere to go but up with the reboot IMO...

With Seth MacFarlane making it, there is most certainly down to go.

The first few seasons of Family Guy would like to have a word with you.

Those seasons are long gone (and I miss them)... Somehow, Seth Mcfaflane will find a way to turn the Flinstones into a political show or Family Guy clone

I'd be worried Fred would just be a clone of Peter.
I can definitely see it.
