I loved the documentary-style filming of the original Cloverfield movie as well as the Kaiju-esque theme, and 10 Cloverfield Lane was a simply brilliant suspense-scifi, with John Goodman just playing an amazing role.
And then..this comes along, somehow by surprise (at least to me), so I was genuinely excited for the last-minute upload by Netflix on Superbowl Sunday.
But what do we get? Random crap happening for literally no reason, with some tenuous tie-in to the original Cloverfield movie.
It's like a bunch of people from all over the world were just told "Space horror with physics!" and to come up with stuff.
"ummm...particle accelerator!"
"Parasites!"
"The Thing is good. Let's do it like that! IN SPACE!"
"TIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrravel derp"
And then some Cloverfield sprinkled in.
So what do you guys think? I've seen and even enjoyed some terrible movies in my life, but Cloverfield Paradox was just insulting.
