It made 103 million this weekend and already surpassed The Dark Knight worldwide.
Impressive.

This means that The Dark Knight Rises will DEFINITELY pass the $1 Billion dollar mark. Considering the fact that a lot of these summer blockbuster films incorporate 3D, which requires higher priced tickets, they make more money for roughly the same amount of viewers as they would garner if they didn't have 3D. So, passing the $1 Billion dollar mark is no longer impressive. The Dark Knight Rises should make close to $2 Billion Dollars if it incorporates 3D.

Newsflash: it's not in 3D. It won't come close to making 2 billion. It won't come close to topping the opening weekend for The Avengers.
Yes, I realize you're not being serious.

Even so, I still think it'll make more money than The Avengers.

I don't see why seeing it should interfere with seeing The Avengers. Furthermore, even if TDKR came out at the same time as The Avengers, would it even matter?

I could see both, it's not really a logistic problem, I just didn't like Dark Knight much. No real interest.[QUOTE="BluRayHiDef"][QUOTE="MrPraline"] would meow meow anne's kitty, but I doubt I will be seeing that film. Now Avengers should be pretty good.MrPraline

Meow. Not in the cinema, though.Come on, Kitty Cat, don't be a furball. Besides, even if you don't see it in theaters (assuming that you'll see it legally on a hjome video format), you'll wind up paying the same amount of money? So, what's the difference? Also, the theater experience will add to your impression of the film.
don't be a furball. BluRayHiDefLOL
don't see it in theaters (assuming that you'll see it legally on a hjome video format), you'll wind up paying the same amount of money? BluRayHiDefNot really about the money, but not really; a beer and popcorn at the cinema will almost double my ticket. Home viewing is a lot cheaper. But who knows. It'll be a while until it comes out here anyway.

Sneak your own food into the theater. Use a backpack; that's what I do.
3D will do that.
TDKR will sell more tickets, but it will make about the same amount. I think there is WAY more excitement for that movie.
But if The Avengers sold out, and had more expensive tickets, TDKR could have more hype, sell out, and still not make as much money. There's only so many theaters! I think TDKR could make more than The Avengers though. We'll see.
Don't get your hopes up, as much as I'm gonna love DKR, without the Heath Ledger death, which I am sure caused more to go see TDK, I think TDKR will fail to do as well as TDK.This means that The Dark Knight Rises will DEFINITELY pass the $1 Billion dollar mark. [QUOTE="Hexagon_777"]Is this movie like Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man?Palantas
No, it's more like Eraserhead.
I assume this is sarcasm. Well, if the answer to my question is yes, then I won't go into the theater with high expectations. All the movies I mentioned were pretty meh to me. They weren't bad, but not anything special either.Me too.

Well to be honest I rolled my eyes whenever the alien bad guy spoke.
I liked the movie but the more I thought about it the more disappointed I was in the plot. I mean the whole movie is "Bad guys show up, good guys stop them" I have watched cartoons that had more depth to their stories than that and I imagined better stories playing with my action figures when I was 5.
And with as up his own butt as Loki was in the movie, why did he feel like he needed the aliens anyway? I mean if he felt like he could take on the Hulk without breaking a sweat why would he need help? That and I think they went a little overboard on the humor, I mean an alien invasion is going on people are dying left and right why are they acting like kids playing flashlight tag in the park?
Anyway those are my 3 main gripes with the movie, I'm glad I saw it but I think the people who are saying its the best movie ever need their head examined. Although I guess in some ways having no plot at all is better than something like Avatar where your plot is the exact same as 5 or so other movies, except with blue people instead of Native Americans.
Lots of films have surpasses one billion in the last few years. I thought the film industry was dying?

Seeing a show it's a Marvel movie, I knew it was going to be like that without even having watched it yet. I'll go watch it next week, but my hype remains the same: very low. Please Log In to post.
