I have a single friend who is guilty of almost all of those points. A lot of guys on here are self proclaimed unsuccessful with women so to TC - good post!

Personally i think the guy is a genius. I'm sure he helped many guys to be more successful with women. He completely changed my perception of women and lists the reasons (besides looks) why i was never successful with women.

When men try to list what attracts women, they usually mention looks, money and power. Sure, some women will only look for these things but most other women will search out for personality more than just good looks. Women are programmed to seek out dominant males. Dominant males offer survival value, which is good for the survival of the woman and her offspring. This increases the chances of her genes being passed on to the next generation. That is why alpha characteristics such as confidence, leadership, humor, charisma, and social skills are bigger factors of attraction than physical appearance.

Looks is not easy to change unless you have a lot of money (hair removal, dermatology, cosmetics or even plastic surgery all cost a lot of money). Personality and social skills are much more easy to change and improve. All it takes is self-confidence and practice.

This guy's editor should be shot, or at least fired if you want to go the boring sane route. I think he figures that since few people are going to take the time and read it fully he should accentuate what he believes to be the point with RANDOM CAPITALS.

To anybody who read that and had a moment where they halfway believed him for however many seconds it takes for your mind to recover from overwhelming stupid let me say this. I like to believe i'm a nice guy which may be utter bull but regardless I have a girlfriend who adores me and I her. It's all about finding someone who's right for you. That admitting your feeling to early thing is bull as well. My girl and I started saying we loved each other a week into our relationship and we've said it everyday for 5 months now.

It's people like this that turn the minority of the population that feel a deep attraction for someone and enjoy making them happy (another sin apparently) into the jerks that he claims are the superior race.

What David DeAngelo says is that personality is more important than looks and money. Most women are more attracted to personality traits (self-confidence, humor, being cocky and funny etc) than to your looks or to your money and with this i absolutely agree with him. Also a man should not give all his power to a woman by telling her how he feels to early on or by making her believe that she is the "one and only" person for him. Instead a man should signal confidence (not weakness), emotional control and signal her that there are many other women besides her.

If you can't get in a relationship with someone by being yourself, will you really be happy getting into a relationship based on what is effectively a lie? I mean, granted, it's never a bad thing to do some self-improvement if necessary, but so many relationship advice things seem to act as if there's one single profile of a guy that every woman in the world wants and if you're like him you'll get all the chicks and if you aren't you won't get any.

I've always thought that the biggest mistake people make, really, is trying too hard. Every single lasting relationship I've ever seen didn't happen by the guy going out looking for someone; the people just happened to be together, hit it off, and it went from there. I think people need to learn to be satisfied without a significant other - relationships work much better if the two people just happen to really enjoy each other's company instead of feeling as if they need the other person to be there.
