I have a 42" samsung HDTV and i'm lovin it. I can hook my PC up to it or my 360 and go wild. I do have a sony camcorder that is great though also..

1080P @ 40'' is a no no, go for a 50'' 1080i. Is that Plasma or LCD?

If the Sony was an XBR than that would be my choice, but between those two you posted i like the one from Samsung.

I would prefer the Sony, but Samsung's aren't half that bad. I would prefer the Sony, well because its a Sony and I have gone through an incredible amount of Sony TV"s and they all have been great. Sony TV's have great sound, great picture, I'm not saying that the Samsung doesn't have those. Go with the Samsung if you want to save yourself some money. The final choice is up to you.
