I don't see why so many conservatives call him a socialist. I hear a lot of my friends say it.(Some of them are also "Birthers") I look at what he's done his entire time in office. I can't figure it out.

They just don't know what socialism actually is.

Darkman2007

I'd say exaggerate that a little bit.

In Europe, if one's not opposed to death penalty, the political spectrum is far right. (UK is not a particularly liberal country, but BNP really is the only one endorsing death penalty). If one does not openly endorse Universal health care, then I don't even know what they call them. Obama fits both, so...

Supports predominantly private ownership over means of production w/ a limited amount of publicly provided social welfare. Center-right, like most U.S. politicians.

Relative to the U.S. political spectrum, preaches center-left, governs center.

On a global scale, center-right/moderate with influences from the left.

Somewhere between Zionist puppet and Zionist lackey.

Distinctions of left and right are meaningless. He's an authoritarian collectivist.

This is probably the most useless term I've ever seen WRT political ideology. I supposed that it could be be used to describe AnCaps?

He advocates that people serve the collective rather than live freely as individuals. That is what it means to be a collectivist.

I know, I nearly fainted.

The same description could apply to Romney if you look at his career as a whole. Lately he's been trying to fit in the crazy evangelical right, which is make him seem two-faced at times.

Obama has to cater to the far-left too, which provides the same kind of problem, though that's less obvious, I'm sure.
