Should rapists loss their ability to have an erection?

Prison is not harsh enough on rapists, they should have their winki choped of, or be injected with a drug so they will loss, their ability to have an erection and reproduce. That way they can not rape anyone ever again, maybe touch, but not rape. Why the hell is this not the punishment for rape yet?

cutting off their "winki" does not seem quite civilized, plus people have pointed out the issue of false convictions. As for chemically causing ED, maybe that would be okay if the chemical were temporary, but I think a chemical like that could possibly have side effects such as impairing proper blood flow throughout the body.

A more humane thing would be to prevent tax-payer funded medical programs, like Medicare or Medicaid from covering Viagra or similar drugs for such persons. Senator Hatch offered an amendment to Obamacare that would've prevent Obamacare from covering ED-drugs for sex offenders, but is was voted down by Senate Democrats because if they approved the amendment then the Senate bill would be different from the House bill so they would have to go to conference and then pass the bill through the House and Senate all over again.

I'm sure this is the punishment in most 3rd world countries. When the leaders of your society are no more educated than our 8th grade drop-outs then certainly a punishment like that would likely occur. A large portion of the world, and like wherever you're from is civilized and refrains from acting like savages.

i don't think the desire to rape and sexual desire are one and the same.  

That would be cruel and unusual punishment. It also won't stop them from raping. They don't have to use "it" to rape someone.

Also, the ancient Romans punished rapists by placing their testicles on a rock and dropping another rock on them.

In high security prisons, rape doesn't happens very often at all.  The movies make it seem like it happens a lot, but it's actually pretty rare, same as stabbings.

I don't think rape works that way.  And actually if a dog can't control itself and attacks people, it is put down; not neutered. 

This is a vindictive and unusually cruel form of punishment that will accomplish nothing except make a few ITGs feel better. Deterring rapists is not a matter of threatening them with castration or other painful and wince-inducing reprisals, because the existing punishments of "several years in prison" is already something that nobody will want to go through just to get some sex.

Rapists aren't deterred much by the law simply because the chances of a rapist being actually convicted of the rape is incredibly puny. There's no point in putting in a super harsh punishment if 98% of your targeted criminals will never have to fear being punished. It will also torpedo any attempts to rehabilitate a rapist into someone with a healthy sexual attitude.
