okey so your stuck in a room with two doors one of them leads to freedom and the other leads to a bottomless pit. There are 2 guards guarding each door and you can only ask them 1 question about which door leads to freedom and which door leads to death. I meant the other guard.

If the person tells the truth then the other person would be a liar. The liar would pick the door that leads to freedom(not the pit) . the guard , being truthful would point to the door which leads to freedom. If the person lies then the other tells the truth. The truful person would pick the door that leads to the pit. The guard being dishonest would then point to the door that leads to freedom. They both will show you the door to freedom.

Id ask the guard when lunch time is.. then id know how long i have to wait.. when the guards go out the door i can just follow them out :P Rattlesnake_8

However, the one who is lieing would also point to the wrong door, because he knows his friend, who is telling the truth would point to the right one, but he is a liar.

It is a very well known riddle with many variations to it. They all have the same basic premise and solution , but with diffrent details. It is very logical and is a riddle.

Unbelievable that som people still don't know the solution to this riddle... i got another one! hehe

-The liar would have chosen the door that led to the pit. but he will lie about what he would have answered and choose the door that leads to freedom.

-the honest one would have picked the door that led to freedom. He will be honest and say that his answer would have been the door that leads to freedom.
