Rate this band : Avenged Sevenfold

This is my favorite band. They're music is some of the best I've heard throughout my life. Not saying they're better than every one else, but they're easily my top favorite band. Their lyrics are meaningful, they really know how to right music and know what sounds go well with what. Solos are pretty good, good riffs, good melodies and harmonics. Their older stuff is fast and somewhat screamo, and their new stuff is more vocals. And their performance life is amazing, sounds just like the albums and they can really put on a show. And their brother like relations with eachother is great.

not my kind of music, but i can see why people like them.

I wouldn't call them mainstream.. Heard them like 10 times on the radio in my life. But ya im guessing alot of people here are into super duper heavy metal and screamo crap

8/10. Waking the Fallen is pretty good, except the songs sound kind of similar. I got their first album but I don't really like it. Their newer stuff is kind of boring for me

First album: Okay / 10 (mainly for Lips of Deceit, Streets and Shattered By Broken Dreams)

Second album: One of my favourites / 10

Third album: Kinda good / 10 (I'm not a huge fan of most of the songs, with the exception of MIA and Seize The Day, but I can see that it's good)

Fourth album: Okay / 10 (The last two songs are amazing)

Fifth album: Dislike / 10

I saw them last summer.. they're a great band. Mike Portnoy was drumming for them instead of The Rev. :(

Once again, I would suggest Opeth, this is some real, well thought out metal. A ****-ton better than A7X too.

Lol at the two advising those bands. I know its just opinions but come on....just because no one heard of them doesnt make them good.. Theres a reason why lol. Again, just opinions.

I like Almost Easy. But not a fan of much of their music.

They really need some variety...their songs share Nickelback-levels of similarity. And holy crap, how many more songs are going to have M. Shadows doing that friggen' laugh?

I'm big on lyrics, which is definitely not their strong point.

10/10 Probably one of my favorite bands too. Nightmare, Their 4th self titled album and City of Evil are fantastic. Waking the Fallen and Sounding the Seventh Trumpet are only ok though. A terrible terrible shame that the Rev died. He wrote most of the Nightmare album and most of the lyrics are about death and he dies shortly after finish writing them. Makes you wonder of what he did was suicide.

Waking the Fallen is a wonderful album, its absolutly one of my favorite metal albums ever and I don't care what anyone says...

But all of their other stuff, especially thier most recent sell out garbage... is some of the worst music I have ever endured....

Opeth is in my top 5 bands. The best progressive Metal band ever.

Anyway, I don't listen to them that much but they do have some great songs (Welcome to the family). Maybe a 6,5/10.
