Randomly asked if I was into/interested in anyone

Would anyone know a reason I would be asked that. Just doesn't seem like a question that would be casually asked,

Well, perhaps she is interested in you, wants to know if you are available.

She either wants to know if your single or not

Or she was just asking out of curiosity and has no interest.

What you should have done was answered her question and asked said "why do you ask?"

@always_explicit: Actually it was my cousin that asked and she was with friends so maybe one of them wanted to know.

9 out of 10 times with this situation it's usually someone asking for a friend to see if they have a shot with you. That 1/10 is just out of boredom to ask.
