Quantum of Solace is so bad

Me and my brother have been on a movie watching kick lately and he wanted to see Quantum of Solace, so I watched it with him, and Jesus Christ, that is a bad Bond film. It has lame action scenes, a forgettable plot, a lame villain, no reason to care about any of the events or characters, a dumb plot, and an overall rushed slapped together feeling. It is a disgrace that such a movie is in any way associated with the superb Casino Royale. It's obvious that the makers felt that they had to put a Bond film out, and just made any old film even though they had no ideas. The only thing good about it was the two incredibly hot Bond girls in it. This film makes Die Another Day look pretty decent.

BTW, what was up with them putting the location names right in the middle of the screen?

I thought it was bad especially after how good casino Royal was imo. Quantum of solace was so bland although i respect what they were trying to do which was show a more emotion side to bond but in the end i couldn't wait for it to be over.

I loved Casino Royale; it's probably my favorite Bond film. However, Quantum of Solace is easily one of the most disappointing films in recent memory. I really hope they don't screw up again with Skyfall.

True story: I fell asleep in theaters after the opening car chase. Upon watching it again, that seems to have been the only correct choice.

Lotta action but no sense of pace, didnt let the atmosphere breath.

I didnt like Casino Royale either, but I give QoS a nudge just for Olga and Gemma, nom.

I've seen every Bond film - most of them multiple times - but Quantum of Solace completely destroyed my interest in the franchise. Ridiculous action scenes edited together in such a way that I didn't have a clue what was going on, and utterly ridiculous plot, and the worst Bond imaginable.

Ugh.

It used to be a sort of "elegant" spy series for adults - now it's nothing but loud noises and big explosions for the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder crowd.

Also, I would disagree that it wasn't a terrible movie. Even if you don't look at it as a Bond film, it was a prettty bad movie IMO. The actions scene were not handled well (which is essential in this type of movie), the pacing was poor, the plot was expressed in the most joyless way possible, the film didn't give the viewer incentive to care about the characters, alot of parts seemed really tacked on, etc.

It was a big let-down after the quality of Casino Royale, that's for sure.

And for those criticising Casino Royale for not enough big set pieces, many of the scenes in the movie were from the novel, so they stuck more closely to the source material. There was actually a lot more action in the movie than there was in the novel, so I thought it was a great adaptation.

I just hope they don't mess up the next one.

Quantum of Solace wasn't fantastic by any means, but I do think Daniel Craig does a great job as Bond. The Bond franchise still remains my favourite to this day. Skyfall day one.

I could never officially call myself a "James Bond fan." The movies are always sort of a hit and miss. And even though for the most part the actors playing them have been good choices, the scripts could eithe be really good (Goldeneye, Casino Royale) or just mediocre (Quantom of Solice, Tomorrow Never Dies, The Living Daylights, or EVERY Bond movie that Pierce Brosnen was in besides Goldeneye).

Quantom was ok, good effects and good action, but the story and direction/editing/choreography was pretty flawed and forgettable. Not nearly as good as Casino Royale (which was fantastic).

I kind of enjoyed Casino Royale, but that is the reason why that and QoS are two of my least favorite bond films since they lack the charm of many bond film have especially the gadgets. Not too excited for the next one (haven't been following it much through)

Why does the time have anything to do whether it's valid for discussion?

I thought it was pretty good. Not as good as Casino Royale but I still liked it. Reminded me of License To Kill which is one of my favorite Bond films. I like the more gritty bond. The gadgets were getting silly with Pierce Brosnan. Especially the stupid invisible car. The newer films are more like the books where bond is a cold more detached killer who also happens to be charming. The gadgets are not necessary.

I think it's pretty good.

I very much enjoyed Casino Royale. So, it's fair to say QoS was quite a letdown.

The opening scene was horrible and so poorly shot I had no idea what the hell was going on. I knew the second after watching the opening chase scene that the movie was going to be bad.

One of the worst films I've ever seen, although I'm not a fan of bond films: they're just mediocre action flicks with nice CGI and the whole 007 spy thing as guaranteed popularity.

The characters in the film are abysmal, it's the first three episodes of Star Wars all over again. I couldn't remember the plot and the action scenes nearly put me in a coma. It's not even one of 'those so bad it's good' films, just painfully mediocre - the worst kind of film.

I was bored by it, but I'm not a fan of Bond movies to begin with.
