Great song. Did you know the drums, bass, and cello were over dubbed into the song? Kurt recorded the guitar, and vocals on a couch in the recording studio after the band couldn't quite get it right in the booth.

Pearl jam are great, I love songs like, Jeremy, Black, and I am Mine, but Nirvana tick ALL the boxes for me.

Just about all you hear from Nirvana is generic power-chords and lame high-school poetry. I like "Come as You Are" though.

I came here to vote nirvana untill I saw the other option. To specify, Smashing Pumpkins are my favorite and there's a lot of other good grunge bands to compete with Nirvana, like Alice in Chains and Soundgarden.

ooh, I must've misread the post then I apologize :P

SP is pretty good, I'd say besides Radiohead they're probably my favorite band that came outta the 90's (and yes I'm aware that technically radiohead formed in 85, but they didn't take off until the early 90's)

Both great, I like Nirvanna more though.

as for PJ.....i got the greatest hits, selftitled, and backspacer
i do love pearl jam but a lot of their stuffbetween Ten and Selftitled kinda didn't sound right to me...

Easily Nirvana... Pearl Jam don't do anything for me.

Nirvana because I like the songs more. I don't care if it's all power chords; they're good songs.

I was in middle school and high school during the whole grunge revolution thing. To me they're pretty equal music-wise. As far as influence, Nirvanna all the way. They pretty much changed the sound of the music industry over night.

Alice in Chains and Soundgarden are better than both of them. Nirvana was only good on the Bleach album and about 2 songs off Nevermind, Pearl Jam are a good band. But Alice in Chains are one of my favorite bands.

Alice In Chains is better than both of them combined. Though Pearl Jam is better than Nirvana.

AIC were more metal than grunge.
