Opera or Chrome?

Hello OT, I need some opinions. Which browser should I use? I'm on a netbook, so speed is probably important. Security features are always nice.

Opera. If you do not wish to leave a history of your browsing habits, Opera's private tab is just the ticket. This keeps prying eyes like a GF or wife from checking out where you like to surf.

Honestly, I've always preferred Chrome. I found it to be faster than Opera, the the sleak feel to it is such a nice though. It's easy on the eyes, which I've always found to be cogent when having a browser, just cos I found IE, Firefox, etc all tacky/cluttered looking. It's got a great selection of extentions and the little new tab key has all my regular sites stored, it's just so easy and simple to use.

I go on the GameSpot forums a lot as you can tell and have found that Opera is the most compatible browser to use. Everything just works for me.

Chrome does not depict my posting history correctly i.e. the columns are stretched and odd looking as opposed to Firefox and Opera. Chrome also sucks with those video clips people post in their sigs or in their posts, playing them horribly slowly. Chrome also portrays individual posts as having their own scroll bars so having a post with several quotes is annoying to look at in Chrome. What's more, I cannot access dictionary/language options by right clicking when writing up a post.

Regarding Firefox, I cannot access dictionary/language options by right clicking when writing up a post, just like with Chrome.

Concerning Opera, I haven't encountered any GameSpot issues yet.

Chrome. In my experience Opera is slow.

Edit: Downloaded the New Opera and it is indeed fast but I do not like the way it loads. Sure it loads but it is choppy for the first few seconds. I use firefox anyways.

I've tried practically every browser out there at one time or another but I really enjoy using Chrome. Its simplicity mixed with its speed is near perfect for me. Its awesome.

For some reason pictures wonts show up for me on chrome. Anyone else having this problem, and know how to fix it?

Can anyone tell me does Chrome or Opera have an equivalent to firefox's Adblock plus and noscript extensions? I'm perfectly happy with firefox but would be interested in trying those two just for the hell of it but there's no way I would willing go back to internet without those two.Gallion-Beast

Chrome has several such extensions. Do all of them just hide the advertisements? I remember seeing one that looked similar to ABP, hence why I am asking. Also, does ABP actually prevent the advertisements from loading? It left black spaces where the advertisements should have been but I did notice a significant boost in speed so I assume it does.Hexagon_777

I dislike chrome because it's not easy to open things in tabs. I like just clicking on a link whilst holding control to open it in a new tab. I'm not sure if chrome does that but I do prefer the design.fabz_95

You can right click the link and choose 'open in a new tab'. Easier then ctrl+click in my opinion.

Also, I use Chrome. Simple, and excellent at preventing viruses. I've gotten two viruses from Firefox (no illegal activities or porn), so I've stopped using it.

Images on gamespots forums wont load for me on chrome and opera:( Anyone else having this problem?

Google will likely never allow that anyway. And I did say I noticed a significant boost in speed! I always had ABP installed but didn't bother with NoScript since I could not figure it out right away as with ABP.Hexagon_777

Besides speed, what makes Opera better than Firefox? I am not interested in Chrome at all. I don't like being spied on by Google and then having that info given to the government.

I have always used Firefox and just recently switched to Chrome but I have yet to try Opera.ZombiefiedZomB
