I was listening to Party Rock Anthem and got some glares from some of my peers.
"What's up?" I innocently asked.
"Ugh, SUCH an overplayed song!" they all replied (nearly in unison).
What, in your opinion, is the most overplayed song around today?

Party Rock Anthem is true, I almost never listen to pop radio, but when I do I swear i'll hear that song without fail.

Never heard of any of these songs before. I must be out of touch. :P

And here I was thinking myself alone in this regard. What kind of music do the young folk listen to nowadays?
The young turks today are listening to that Bieber and Gaga.[QUOTE="mmmwksil"]

I must be too and I think I would rather stay that way in that instance.
It's been a few weeks since I've listened to mainstream radio, but I kept hearing "Last Friday Night" by Katy Perry... Hate that song so much.
I only hear these songs at dances (the select few I attend), then I start hearing them at most social gatherings. Eventually, they get stuck on my head, and I begin to see references everywhere on the internet, and youtube videos with 40,000,000+ views. :?Never heard of any of these songs before. I must be out of touch. :P

I live in Canada. Thus all Nickleback and Rush is played on any rock station every 4th song. Also Paralyzer.Ace6301Hmmm, The times I have been in Canada, I heard a bunch of Triumph and The Guess Who.8)
I also like Rush so it wouldn't bother me.
Definitely party rock anthem.. and I'm beginning to here Last Friday Night quite often.Are_Ya_Ready

OMG yes, that song is played everywhere, even on my local rock station (and i dont classify that song as rock)
Lighters by Bad Meets Evil. Doesn't help that I can't stand Bruno Mars to begin with.ff7fan2I loved that album except for that song almost killed the album...
Let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies the - - FLOOOOOOOOOORMario2007...and THIS.
bon jovi - living on a prayerimaps3fanboyActually, I change my answer to this. Most pop/rock hits go away but this one seems to find its way to sneak on a radio every year.
I don't know honestly. Myabe Stairway to Heaven. I love the song and Zeppelin, but it's not their best work. (Still amazing though.)

Oh come on, I barely listen to radio anymore and I never hear it, but I have to listen to Top 40 stations to get it.
Anyways, I got really sick of Marron 5's This Love when it got overplayed on one station a while ago. It's OK, but when you hear it over and over again, it really starts to suck.
Let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies the - - FLOOOOOOOOOORMario2007I never hear it on the radio but at least 70% of the frag videos on youtube (and even some fighting game combo movies oddly enough) have this song. For the longest time I thought it was automatically inserted by youtube when the original song was copyright claimed. Oh how naive I was.
