they do get rid of the jerks....can't complain about that.martialbulletI agree, I like alot of them, so I thought I would harass them with a nice topic ;)
Strange, I just got modded by a mod who reffered to a can of soda...Lil_link2004That would be my personal favorite one too, he's old school, and gives me many lulz with his lockage :D
It's more the rules I dislike. But hey, this site is full of kids so what can you do.wrlyy
Well first we kill all the children..
It's more the rules I dislike. But hey, this site is full of kids so what can you do.wrlyyWhich rule do you dislike the most?
They can be a little too strict at times, but this site wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable without them, so I guess I like em.
Funny, I expected this thread to be a mod basher.Witchking111111Nope, I wanted something relaxed but maybe give the site some positive feedback as well
Which rules do you think need fixing and why? Some are fine, others aren't.
And some of the rules need fixing.

Would you like me to read them to you? :P :lol:I wouldn't know, I haven't read them (haha zing)

I find the ambiguity of the ToU to be the problem. Mods can only work with what they're given.....LJS9502_basicIf you had the chance what would you change about the ToU?

Clearly outline what trolling means for one.

And I expect if I see you in real life you look like that thing in your sig, eating pudding.
Unfortunately

Actually what I would do was only let users report serious violations. Too many posters use dislike to get minor violations against another user. I'd limit disruptive posting more though. As long as it conveys a thought....it should be fine whether it's one word or not.
Too lazy to edit your quote, so I'll post it here DD:
Perhaps I should reword what I meant. It's not that the rules are too strict, the mods are. They really don't allow for funny or cool threads. It's understandable though, since some people take it too seriously or don't know how to respond appropriately.
Intending to solely annoy or offend another user, which you usually know in your head while typing your post. Being mean, condescending, disrespectful, etc. Specifically directed of course. If you can't be nice, then don't say it basically.Clearly outline what trolling means for one.

Yeah, for instance, the blank quote glitch, it's a glitch and shouldn't be Moderated as disruptive, just deleted. For the most part I find things fair though, for my Moderations I was asking for it and knew I was doing wrong when I was Modded, and in a few cases it probably should have even been worseActually what I would do was only let users report serious violations. They use it as an umbrella item to more or less delete anything they don't like. Sometimes people need to be told things in slightly harsher terms and if you can't even imply to somebody they are acting stupid or nonsensical then they remove an important part of the discourse.
Most threads are just locked and given an explanation if they should be blogged etc and not moderated from what I have saw around here. It's when users get redundant, or ignore warnings when serious action is taken from what I have experienced. Alot of the "cool" threads if they were allowed then you'd have 50 users making the same kind of thread, just so they could have a thread with alot of posts. From the way I interpret it's a "give an inch, take a mile kind of thing"Too lazy to edit your quote, so I'll post it here DD:

Oh I almost forgot the whole moderation discussion rule is ****ing stupid. I should be able to talk about my moderation. If other people start making problems because of that, it's their fault, not mine. I shouldn't have to top discussing it, this is a forum, that is what it is for. Stopping people from discussing something because of someone elses immaturity seems pretty stupid. But perhaps they have a good reason.The_IshLast I knew it was ok to discuss it in blog or if you have a problem about your Moderation they have Ask the Mods or Customer Support for clarification. Allowing such a thing in the forums would just lead to a bunch of threads of people saying "OMG, I was Modded, who else thinks this is B.S.!?!?!" etc
You can state whether or not you agree or not, it's when you specifically direct negative comments at a certain user it's considered trolling/offensive. If you don't like a thread, or someone's comment, then articulate, and say something like "I hate these kind of threads" or just ignore altogether, or if you don't like someone's opinion they stated then find a way to explain why you think it's b.s. without resorting to name calling or being vulgar about itThey use it as an umbrella item to more or less delete anything they don't like. Sometimes people need to be told things in slightly harsher terms and if you can't even imply to somebody they are acting stupid or nonsensical then they remove an important part of the discourse.

Then they should lock those copycat threads instead of suspending and moderating indiscriminately. It does not help the users if they can't talk about something because a bunch of jerks or kids don't know how post like they are supposed to.
Eh...we can't do anything about it anyways. From what it seems, the staff leader Bethany seems like a Nazi about these things.

Of course, thats pointless, but I am talking about when people are trying to figure out why their friends were suspended or banned.
They should allow that much, but no.

It's about discretion and I agree they shouldn't Mod unless it's a clearly defined reason, but also if they are "power hungry" or "biased" etc they do have to answer for their actions and injustices can be righted, they are people and not perfect. Which is why there is "Ask the Mods" and "Customer Support" and why would you say that about Bethany? I've never dealt with her personally. But JodyR has been more than fair with myself or a few other users I know ofEh...we can't do anything about it anyways.
