If the world ends in a few days, then I'll never have to see another thread about doomsday.
Doesn't sound so bad.
LOL! Then why do you reply to it?
Xtatic324
Because not replying to a thread causes it to stop existing?
[QUOTE="berserker2389"]Again........::sigh:: tired of these threads Xtatic324

And No, it's a load of you know what.
Because I'm bored, and feel like complaining lolIt's only 5 days away, so we dont have that long to waitchaoscougar1I'll be playing L.A. Noire for most of them :P
I just looked up the logic behind it. Apparently they think Jesus died on April 1, 33, and May 21 is 722500 days after that. Why is 722500 a significant number? Because it's what you get if you multiply the holy numbers (5, 10, and 17)...twice!
Yeah, it's a bit of a stretch if you ask me.
I don't necessarily think that May 21st will be "Judgment Day," but there are some interesting things happening right now that have my attention. Most of those who support the May 21st date seem to think that there will be a massive earthquake that will bring unseen devastation on or around that date. A lot of them have pointed to the New Madrid Fault zone in the middle of the US as a possible ground zero for the event.
What do we have going on in that area right now?
-The Mississippi River is at levels that haven't been seen a very long time. The floods going on currently have been described as a "once in 500 years" type of event. Thousands of homes have already been intentionally flooded to save New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
-FEMA is conducting their Level 1 (National level) annual disaster response exercise in the New Madrid Fault zone this year. This exercise is going on from May 16th through 20th.
I'm not saying that we are surely headed for a massive New Madrid quake this week, because I just don't know that. What I am saying is that there are a few different things going on which could be indicative of such an event. There is also the issue of the frequency of moderate to large quakes this year versus other years in recent history. While the USGS data shows that we are seeing fewer than average small quakes (lower than magnitude 4.0), we are seeing a significantly above average number of moderate to large quakes worldwide in 2011.
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eqarchives/year/eqstats.php
As most of you probably know, there is a direct correlation between the lack of smaller quakes and the increase in larger ones. Usually the tectonic plates relieve stress through smaller quakes, which keeps pressure from building up and exploding in a large event. When you don't have the smaller quakes to relieve the pressure, you end up with bigger ones. So fewer overall quakes, but they are much more significant when they do happen.
None of this is proof of anything regarding a May 21st apocalypse. It's speculation, but very interesting to me.

i see what you did there ;)It's crap, period. It's not even religious crap since there's nothing to support it in the scripture. It's just plain out nutjob crap. Ihazrhthe guy who started it does back it up with scriptures from the bible.

What a conundrum well, it is that book which tells us of how the end of times will look like and base on the many descriptions on this book written thousands of years ago, he can pin point its accuracy with todays events. He used it, did his homework and actually can back up why he saids what he saids. It doesnt necessarily need scientific evidence to be proven true. Only time will tell :?

The end of the world doesn't need scientific evidence? Say what?

the fact remains that he does back up his claims. You can read about it here and no, I dont think you necessarily need science if what hes going by, and what he believes in, is the bible. To him and to many, the bible is the truth and what it saids about the last days will/has happen : http://www.familyradio.com/facts/I looked at their calculations. I have no idea where their math comes from.
They said that -4990 + 7000 - 1 = 2011. Well, according to my own calculations, the world was meant to end in 2009.
I am getting last year. Unless 4990 years from 4990 BC isn't year 1 and am terrible at math.its 4990+2011-1=7000. Seven thousand years after 4990 B.C. (the year of the Flood) is the year 2011 A.D. (our calendar)
if the man is wrong hes wrong. I forgot his name but he studied the bible for 50years now and if what he thinks is 100% true and it doesnt happen, it doesnt mean as a whole the bible is wrong. You know, I have to wonder here. If they're 100% certain that scripture says the second coming is on May 21, if (when, rather) it doesn't happen, does that mean scripture is wrong?

I think it's bologna. Judgment day/Armageddon has been predicted many times in the past and has failed, and as I look at the "evidence" that's being presented to try to give credence to this prediction, I can only laugh. I believe in Judgment day and that no person knows when it'll come, so any precise estimate is useless to me.
