I'm sure this is isn't the first time this thread has been made, but oh well.

I've always had extremely hairy legs. Throughout school, they were always the hairiest. People give me sh*t about it, but it doesn't bother me too much. However, I don't really like having hairy legs. I'm a long-distance runner, and I feel like it just looks weird compared to everyone else out there. So recently, I've been considering shaving them. My whole family would be against it, saying that it wasn't a man thing to do. But they do bother me sometimes.

So, what's your take? Is it against the code of men or should I go for it?

Its against the code. But then again I dont have hairy legs so I wouldn't be able to judge. If it's bothering you, trim them with one of those electrical trimmers.

Post a pic of your leg first so we can determine how hairy it is. :P Personally, I wouldn't shave the legs.

I'm hairier than Bigfoot, so I do a lot of trimming, but very little shaving with a straight razor. An electric trimmer is your best friend.

Do it, you might shave a few seconds off your time. Bodybuilders shave a whole lot more than that and they are considered manly. Look at Arnold, hes the one calling people girly men.

Imo, shaved legs either look like chicken legs or the legs of a fat person. The hair ushers it into a safe-zone, where you just look like a man.

Reduces drag. I personally just wax/shave everything. Tend to do it when I'm bored. I don't have to shave, arms, chest, or back, I lack hair in those areas, and my arm hair well..., I've seen teenage girls with more then me.

You know you can trim your leg hair down with some clippers instead of shaving them completely. A lot of guys do that with their chest hair.

It's a myth that shaving makes your hair grow back thicker. Shaving opens up the pores somewhat, so the end of each hair is thicker, but the overall thickness doesn't significantly change.

If constant shaving made my hair grow thicker, I'd be cutting tree-trunks off my face.

Meh, do it if you want to. I work out a lot nowadays and by shaving I can see my results more clearly, and I think it just looks better.

I tend to suspect guys who manscape are batting for the other team. Straight men don't usually care that much about their physical appearance.

I dont think it actually reduces drag.

I think its more an annoyance issue (wind against your hair making you itchy sometimes) and the fact that afterwards you are more aware of your muscles, especially against the lycra suit.

1. Shaving your whole body is different from "not caring about physical appearance". 2. There are plenty of straight guys who shave their body hair.
