Man of Steel official speculation/discussion thread (new trailer)

  Plot Synopsis:

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyones imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as Superman, not only to shine as the worlds last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

It looks pretty decent.  Seems like they've shown a lot of the big money shots, though.

I have been pretty excited for this for a while but oddly the new trailer did less for me than anything that has come before it. Though this part of the trailer was cool:

Supes should keep the beard. Makes him look rugged.

Only problem is that zack snyder has yet to make a really good movie.  The closest was probably 300

Also is it me or have costume designers really fallen in love with the "textured look" for all superheroes? Not a complaint, just an observation.

I've noticed that as well.  I think maybe it's to give it more believably as opposed to just looking like tights.

Yeah, my girlfriend still hasnt forgiven me for taking her to see sucker punch.  The action was cool,but the rest really sucked.  They're in an asylum and make believe they're hookers who make believe they're super ninja assassins.  What the fvck?

Same, I love the whole emotional aspect and gritty feeling but the action scenes we saw kind of ruined it. The cgi is what worries me I don't want to get too excitied like green lantern

Well it can' t be worse than Superman Returns. In fact it looks more interesting although I don' t expect to see a jaw-dropping movie.

Hope its good. Wouldn't bet money on it though.
