Male until proven female A general concensus

Thats basically how we do it here even if we refuse to admit. And often than not I've been wrong..well in some cases anyways. But whats your view on it? Being that gaming is predominantly male (at least on consoles anyways...yes its true females don't deny it) Is it safe to assume every poster is male unless their username/sig/or avatar suggests otherwise? What say you OT?

yeah, there sure are some weirdos that pretend to be girls too. But Yes I assume ALL gamespot users are males (especially if their username says chick, girl, babe, etc in the title). It doesnt really matter though. Maybe there are more posts from "females" in the Wii and DS forums, but I dunno, I dont own either of those.

I do not assume that somebody is male just because they're posting here, that's a bit stupid if you ask me. However I do make assumptions based on avatars/signatures, which can be very wrong. lol.

I'll typically believe that somebody is the gender they say they are... but there are certain red flags. Still it won't really hurt me if they're lying, it's not like I'm going to date them and meet them in real life. lol. I wouldn't do that. So unless there are "red flags", I just believe them and move on.

Otherwise I'm respectful to people and do not even try to assume pronouns. I usually say "he/she" or "they" because I know how annoying it is when somebody gets it wrong.

I've had a good number of people refer to me as "he", even if they've typed out my username in their post. I do generally assume most people are male here, but if at some point I'm unsure, I refer to the person as OP/TC, "they" or "them" if at all possible. A lot of girls on here don't have feminine usernames/avatars/sigs at all.XilePrincess

I refer to everyone as a he unless corrected or I know differently. This is obvious course talking about the internet... and in L.A.... jk about the LA part :P
