Looking back is there any movies that you wish you seen at the movie theater back in the day?

Halloween H20, that's a title I've heard people have mixed opinions on. Mostly negative. What do you personally like about it? I've seen a mixed bag of Halloween movies. 2 being my favourite & 3 being my least favourite which is probably not surprising.

Not really. I'd rather watch in the comfort of my home (and privacy) these days. Theaters don't hold the same appeal now for me as they did when I was younger.

It's still fun, don't get me wrong, I just don't see the point. Dune is the movie I'm most excited for and even that I'd rather watch at home than in a theater.

I know theater can make the experience better, and directors intended for it to be on theater screens blah blah blah but I think that is just their age and bias showing.

Was lucky enough to have grown up in the 90's, though, and I saw a lot of great films in theaters :D

Alot of it is nostalgia for that time in my life and the way the world was in the late 90's but also the ending was pretty good.

Pulp Fiction is one,Fight Club is another. No Holds Barred is probably the worst of the three. There’s a couple more but can’t think of it now. Just thought of one,Return of the Living Dead 2. Horrible acting and sh*t all around movie.

@speeny: If you like the original Halloween movies, they re-releasing the first 5 movies on 4K blu ray next month. Probably will get the first 3.

4K Ultra HD...that's something I really need to consider upgrading to. If it ever became the norm, I'd probably only buy favourites if they're available. I think it'll be the last format we'll see physically. Who knows. I own plenty of Blu-rays and DVD's as it is.

There used to be a theater that used to advertise weekly screenings of Blade Runner and they would always list it. After a year of them listing the location and time I bite and decide to go but when I did the site was closed up for good. 🥺

@speeny: I don't have too many DVDs, and the ones I do have are older titles long overdue for either Blu-Ray or 4K upgrades. Learned that Warner Bros. will be putting out all 4 Mad Max movies in 4K this November, so I pre-ordered the box set. Really excited for that one.

Sure, plenty.

•OT Star Wars trilogy

•Exorcist

•Raiders Of The Lost Ark

•Alien

•Deepthroat

But only in the culture of the day, as back then these weren’t just good movie experiences, they were groundbreaking. I’d have loved to have seen people losing their shit over The Exorcist, or have witnessed the crazy phenomenon that surrounded the birth of Star Wars into popular culture.

I love the movies, and wish I’d been there to see such revolutions and the breaking free of creative boundaries that many of those flicks brought.

Few other notable mentions: Shawshank Redemption, BttF, Psycho, Saving Private Ryan (actually saw this at release but would enjoy seeing everyone with their jaws on the floor during the opening scene again).
