I'm drinking a Blue Moon right now. First time I've ever had it. I actually really enjoy this beer, and it's going to fall under my favorites. What other beers do you enjoy?

Oberon. It's from a microbrewery and pretty hard to get outside of Michigan. It's delicious.

I've heard too much beer can actually stimulate oestrogen production and breast growth in males... Is that what I'm waiting for? :P Anyway, Grolsch is my Beer of choice. Just can't get enough of that skunky, hopsy taste :)

I prefer beers with some body to them - can't stand the typical macrobrew swill like Budweiser, Kokanee, Molson, Coors, etc. If I'm going to drink those I might as well drink water, or buy nonalcoholic beer, as they taste pretty much the same.

My three favourites are porter, India pale ale, and amber ale. They aren't bulletproof, of course, and I've had bad variants of all three before.

For porter:
Okanagan Springs Old English Porter. It's 8.5%, rich (very rich), sweet, and goes brilliantly with chocolate and/or oysters. The only downside is that it's too rich to drink more than one, and drinking it has made it so that I can no longer stomach the weakness of Guinness.
Lighthouse Keeper's Stout. Another reason why I'll never drink Guinness - Keeper's is cheaper, and tastes better.

Amber ales:
Lighthouse Race Rocks. Fantastic beer - an easily drinkable everyday beer with a nice subtle bite to it.
Rickard's Red. It's a macrobrew, so it's widely available, and it's probably the only one I'd consider drinkable. It's a last resort, though.

IPAs:
Philips Amnesiac (Double IPA). It's got bite, it's got grapefruit, more hops that you can taste through the course of one bottle, and is incredibly bitter. It's also fantastic, the beer equivalent of a one night stand with a gymnast.

edit - I'm drinking an Amnesiac right now and it's like sex in my mouth.

Can you get Newcastle Brown Ale in the USA? I've been drinking tons of that lately, when I'm too lazy to cook.

Blue Moon is a domestic American beer brewed by Coors/Molsen. It is based on German Hefeweizen beers, which are normally consumed with a lemon or lime. Somehow the Yanks have popularized drinking mock wheat brews with a slice of orange. Enjoy the feeling that you are somehow unique.

You're missing out. Yes, there are a lot of people who go to extremes and act like idiots courtesy of alcohol, but alcohol itself isn't inherently bad.

You can only get Yuenling on the East Coast as far as I know so that would indeed be self-ownage.
