John Lennon or Bob Dylan? Who's the better artist? I'm not asking who you prefer, but who you believe to have more talent.

Bob Dylan. Lennon had the help of other bandmates to fill his flaws and to enhance his skills. When he went solo, his work was average. Dylan's lyrical skills are top-notch even today, and the only thing I could say he's weak on are his musical proficiency with instruments. That said, Lennon's solo work has similar range, so no biggie. Dylan in a heartbeat in this one.

I love Bob Dylan... his music is the only music that has pierced my soul. John Lennon was very good, but Dylan is very special to me. Dylan is easily one of the most legendary artists alive... and rightfully so.

Dylan. Lennon was expirimental, but I don't think he was ever as groundbreaking as Dylan.

Folk...Country. Whatever. Close enough. And yes, I'm aware he switched to rock and roll.

Ahh...Jesus... I voted for Lennon just to tie it up. Both are/were extremely talented though, I can't really pick one.

Dylan by far. I always thought Lennon was overrated. He was pretty good, but there were much better songwriters around in his time like Cat Stevens. Dylan has stayed pretty consistant over the years, though his christmas album recently was a bit odd.

Lennon for me - he would have been a good bloke to go for a beer with. His music wasn't bad either.

Dylan easily. McCartney is even better than Lennon. McCartney showed he didn't need Lennon when he started Wings, Lennon still needed McCartney when he went solo.

Dylan - though he has some bad songs, he's got some stuff that just hits your very soul.

Of course I'd rather hang out w/ Lennon, Dylan can be a bit of an ass.
