"Quick! Flip it on its back and attack its weak underside for massive damage!"
Those are cool. I have found my next pet.buxboyI hope you're rich. I'm pretty sure that they are deep water species., and need cold water and high pressure, in addition to an absolutely HUGE aquarium.
If you want a bigass crab, I think you're better off with a robber crab.

Also known as a coconut crab, these things open up coconuts. With their hands. And if you've ever seen the movie Cast Away, or tried to open up an unhusked coconut, you'll know that this is no small feat. I once tried to open up an unhusked coconut, and it took me half an hour. And that was with the help of a freaking machete.
But the best thing about the robber crab is that it is a terrestrial crab. It's basically an absolutely HUGE relative of those little hermit crabs that they sell in gift shops along the beach. Since it is terrestrial, you don't have to have a huge ass aquarium. And you don't have to spend countless hours monitoring the nitrates and nitrites and ammonia in the water. Just take a bowl, fill it with tap water, and that takes care of the crab's water requirements.

What is this blasphemy, crabs that fit on your back, my crab couldn't fit on your entire body.
But seriously, spider crabs live on the bottom of the pacific ocean and are eaten as a delicacy in the surrounding region of which they live.

Yeah, and your crab doesn't open up freaking coconuts.
I actually want to get a pet robber crab, but I've never once seen one for sale. That surely means that they're expensive as hell.
Haha why do the eyes of the crab in the second pic look mad?thisguy51
For the same reason why I chose a crab as my Gamespot icon.
CRABS...ARE....MAD!!!
\That's why I love them. They're funny as hell. Crabs are among the maddest creatures in the animal kingdom. And they're simultaneously hilarious because despite their anger, they typically can't do a damn thing to you. Crabs are like your 70 year old drunken alcoholic uncle who's always pissed off and itching for a fight. Sure, he really can't do a damn thing to anyone, but that's not gonna stop him from being one mean angry son of a *****. And that's honestly sort of funny.
I saw some of those when I went to Japan at the Osaka aquarium. They are definitely intimidating. Here's a picture I took:
Granted I don't think the ones I saw could grow the size of some of those illustrated in the original post since they are confined to a tank, but they were quite large.
[QUOTE="MrGeezer"][QUOTE="FlaminDeath"]YOU RANG![QUOTE="Film-Guy"]kill it with fire!Iron_will
Dude, you've REALLY been saving up for this, have;'t you?
Hell, even your rank is "Blaster Master".

Yes I have been saving that one. And now I realized it goes perfect with my name so I sigged it.OMG, that's a pretty big crab, I never saw one like this before, very interesting, I wonder how much did they pay to build an aquarium since the guy said that you needed to have high pressure, a huge aquarium and so on.
I agree, kill it with fire! hahaha
