I'm totally depressed today. I don't really feel like going outside in a while. I'm at a roadblock here and things are beginning to seem pointless.*sigh* This thread sucks. I don't even know what details to add.
Please, OT, help me out here. :(

His father lost his job. And they cannot afford to pay the hospital bills for his mom. He has the right to feel down. His brother is hooked on drugs as well. Sad really.Poor puppy.
1. Get a job
2. Go out to you're loal big city and do a bit of shopping or if you don't feel like shopping buy a book and enjoy it in a nice coffee house (preferably somewhere you haven't been alot before)
3. Try to work out a bit, this'll take tyou're mind off it and help boost your confidence
That's all i got at the moment but they do work, i was feeling a bit down at the beginging of term but i'm ok now and the good thing is that this way tends to stick unlike anything like "play a game" or "read a book"

my first thoughts
Not because of a girl. Well maybe deep inside but thats not the reason. I'm just at a Physical purgatory at the moment. I'm affraid to talk to people that seek attention from me because I haven't responded to them in such a long time(embarrassed). I feel real bad for them though.
I want to add at least something to my life. All I do is stay inside and lurk internets. I don't know how though because im basically socially retarded irl. I want to get a job or something dangit. I don't know where to start.
I don't want to sound like a whiney POS.. its hard not too though heh.

I don't know how to get around. Don't know anyone in my area to play with. Don't have any money to buy anything.(no job). I would love to play bball with somebody though. I do like playing it whenever I get the chance. The chance being mostly when I was in school.

1. Anything will do for a job, even a paper route will get you some fresh air and out of the house, it looks good on your CV too that you managed to get yourself up so early consistently
2. Neither do i, i always use the train then the tram network in the city or i i'm going more local then i use the bus
3. I've been feeling like that a bit too , the bst way to do it is use an incentive
i.e i don't let myself leave my room in the morning untill i've done 10 pushups, i don't allow myself to have a meal until i've done 60 situps
Sport. I can see that not being you're sort of thing, it usually requires skill in the sport and such before hand and competitive drive to put effort in which has never worked for me. The ones i've listed you don't really need to know anything for, even if you think you do, just throw yourself in and do it. When i started going shopping on some of my free afternoons i'ld never really shopped for pleasure before or shopped alone but it was really great, i enjoyed it and it allowed me to order my thoughs and relax, anytime spent away from homework is relaxing for me.

I made a pact with my grandmother to never do drugs. so thats out of the question.
That's good, I guess a change of scenery is always good, like taking a bike or walking somewhere you havent been before always helps me.

Thats a good idea. Also it would help me to know my area a little better. how far should I go out without knowing my way around..?

Use bread crumbs. :P
I moved to a new area a while ago but since I dont go to school around there I barely know anyone. I usually have an idea of where I'm going on my bike sometimes but if you dont remember you can always just go about 5 blocks away, or less and then return.

The scorpians will eat all the bread crumbs.. (I live in phoenix)
5blocks is like.. 5 neighborhoods right?
everything will fall into place man dont worry about it so muchfdsfgs
I think It's time to worry. I'm 20 and have no clue about anything besides internets.
I understand what you mean though. I've seen it happen in my life. When I think its the end eventually things come together nicely.
I'm honestly afraid of getting lost in my city. I don't know any of the streets or anything. I don't know how to find a paper boy job nor how to confront the employer(etiquette). I feel like I'm just going to look like a joke trying to get a job. The only thing I know is my own address as far as getting around goes.Meeeko
i don't know the way around my local city either, i know how to get to the high street from the train station and i know my way round the main part of the mall but that's about it, just one street off the high street and i'm completely lost, makes it all the more intresting IMO
just don't use too much new slang and don't insult people... that's about it, atleast that got me throught my job
and for getting around just bring a map with you or print off a google map and mark your route on, after a while you'll memorise it even if you don't know the street names

yeah in Phoenix thats about three neighborhoods.
I guess you could go up to a place where you feel comfortable enough, lets say ten blocks since youre in a city or go to a random train or bus stop.
Just try to do something new. I was feeling bored so I went around my neighborhood and found an ice cream place.

5 blocks is just 5 main roads, depends how far it is on how big your town is but it should be just as easy to navigate if you only go 5 blocks.

I love the Idea of going to college but As You can see the I'm not quite sure where to start. I have a fear that i'll be to stupid for it and just be laughed out of the building. Wasting my time/money and making a fool out of myself.

that's fine i always talked to my boss like this"Rite, mate, i need a couple of weeks off cause i'm going on holiday wit ma folks", it's fine as long as it's nothing new
IRT original post:
1. Journal. Write everything down.
2. Take the journal wherever you go, and write down steps to combat your depression.
3. Do those things.
4. When you feel like it, talk to another person about what is making you depressed.
wslacker2
Good Idea, I could use my dream journal for that. Talking to other people about it.. I don't know about that. I feel embarrassed just about the thought of it. Only reason I'm talking about this in public now of course is because of the anonymity of the Internet. It's rare for me to talk about my feelings irl.
