yes, when it comes to guilt-based memories, I have a near photographic memory. I mean, in the wee hours of the night, when I am laying in bed, memories of how I might have wronged someone in like third grade roll into my head, or I replay recent conversations at work that could have gone better.
All these things the opposing party has likely forgotten about ,and yet they drive me nuts at times and keep me awake. I wish I could erase select, trivial memories like these.

If you are one who is predisposed to wronging others, then wouldn't having guilty memories of previous events make you less likely to wrong people in the future?
That is to say that you have a memory of wronging people, and that makes you feel BAD. Isn't that an incentive to not do wrong to other people? If you DIDN'T feel bad about your memories of those events, then wouldn't you be more likely to repeat those events?
