If GameSpot ever wants to compete with Giant Bomb...

I think theres a mod problem around here. A serious one.

The forum interface more than makes up for the ridiculous strictness, IMO...

I'm a Moderator on GiantBomb and while i admit there is issues our forums there are more relaxed. We don't allow certain things to be posted but we aren't going to suspend or ban you for dropping the odd F bomb or other swear word. The website itself is more of a wiki of gaming knowldge and related information where as Gamespot is about the reviews and previews.

A lot of people on Gamespot have complained GiantBomb's forums are full of pointless threads in its OT board. Well news flash its an OT board which is where pointless threads are mean't to be posted, better there than anywhere else.

That and GiantBomb has anywhere from around 6000 to the full 14,000 users online at any one time. Infact we noticed that while GB had 10,000 users online GS had barely over 1000. So being able to moderate the forums while trying to moderate the submission to the wiki section of the site when there are hundreds of pages full of submissions can be a stressing and time consuming task.

We've begun to take measures to stop the GB vs GS hate on the GiantBomb forums. I personally still use both websites as they both rock.

They're are absolutely no completition with Gamespot and Giant Bomb... Gamespot is a gaming site that is owned by CNET which is a COMPANY that has divisions(MP3.com, TV.com, Movietome.com,Gamespot.com, etc) Giant Bomb is a wiki/gaming site that just started this week and its improving on it... Please stop this hatred about Giantbomb or Gamespot, because its ridculous and just remember, Gamespot has a huge cast of editors, and behind the scenes guys and whereas Giant Bomb has only four dudes whom worked the site...

So please, reconsider what you're saying, there are NO COMPETITION BETWEEN THOSE TWO!

Because last time I checked, Gamespot was like 100th in the world in internet traffic, and GB was 39,000th.

That's because the site is brand new.

Believe me, the number will start going down, as it already has...

It's not a competition. People need to get that through their thick little heads.

But forum-wise, GS > GB. GB is the scum of what was once on Gamespot. It's everyone who was banned for being irresponsible jackasses or people who hate the mods or people who over-exaggerate the forum rules in place.

Giant Bomb failed before it was ever conceived.

GS doesn't have to worry about it.

I don't think GS and GB should be competeing at all...

GS should stop talking about GB, and GB should stop talking about GS. It is really getting on my nerves, me liking both sites and all.
