To live, that's the point. There doesn't have to be a purpose. Even those who are remembered will be lost when something like another asteroid comes and blows up the earth. Thus, there is no point to anything so just enjoy it.

Just because you haven't been famous in life doesnt mean that you had no purpose. You could have had children and passed on the genes of the human race, or made somebody elses life easier by doing your job e.g any job in services. Its the fact that you were a member of the human race and contributed to the continuing/inevitable destruction of the earth that matters. Stop worrying about what you cant change, if you wanna be famous then go ahead and try. As long as i live a healthy, good life and pass on that to my children(when i have some)and the others around me, Icouldn't care less. I would die happy at the end of my "game" if i knew i had a positive effect on someones life.
Someone has to be the unwashed masses to lift the famous up. And on a side note, do you really belive that in 500 years people will even know who our famous people were? The only ones they will remember are the ones who improved life quality for all of mankind. So enjoy beingan unwashed mass, its not nearly as stressful.
It's so subjective and thus doesn't matter to you personally in the here and now. Who knows what will be relevant in the future? You might be a doctor and save a mans life and be lauded. Then, when your dead, that guy becomes a world leader and you will be remembered as a key figure in political history, sayings will develop about you or you may become a mythical figure in your country. All this might happen even though you thought it was inconsequential at the time, during your lifespan.
