Hi Guys.

Here is my issue:

I recently downloaded Ubuntu onto my computer, but I messed up a big step and deleted all my backed up family pictures (Don't ask how). I'm not sure if I can recover them or not, but I'm certainly trying my darndest. Now my mother (Bless her heart) is a very nice person, but one thing she gets upset about easily is whenever we lose pictures or whenever somebody doesn't back them up.

Here is why I am talking to you guys:

I'm not sure how to tell her we lost all of our family photos. I've tried to conjure up some brilliant scheme to get myself in less trouble, but I didn't come up with anything.

SO PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO TELL HER!

If you want to troll a little bit and post outrageous answers, you can. But I'd like a few people to try and help with the issue.

CHEERS!

if she doesnt know anything, blame the computer.

if she knows enough about computers, your out of luck.

but if they got actually deleted, for good, then there is nothing you can do to recover them.

might as well come clean.

Use this. Recover those so you don't have to tell her anything....

There are other software out there that can help you recover delete files if the application is too difficult....

She doesn't know too much. But she'll get angry at me or my dad for not having them printed out or backed up. So that won't work.

I'll try the program realy quick. If it works, You'll forever be in my debt.

I'd hate to come clean, but I may have to if this doesn't work out.

Unless you went and install a bunch of other stuff your that computer after you deleted those photos, it should work. Things that get emptied out in the recycle bin don't entirely disappear. They stay on the drive til other data over writes it. So use that file recovery software to bring those pictures back...

The hard part about using file recovery software though is finding out what directory those deleted files are in. It usually scans the entire computer so finding out which directory the deleted files are in can be tricky...
