i told her to shut up because she accused me of bullying someone and kick me out when i said shut up so now i think the "right" thing to do is to say sorry.

If she has a continuing grudge against you for it, say that you are sorry for disrespecting her, that is if you feel sorry. If you don't feel sorry, don't act like youdo.
Shut up was obviously the wrong choice of words I assume. Explain the situation is a polite manner. If she still chooses to be a dick about it, then tell her to get ****ed.
people do not bully in class in college. maturity and respect for other students is established by that age.If you're in college, write a formal letter explaining how you lost control of your emotions and acted very unprofessional and immature.
If you're in high school, say "sorry" after class and leave, never bring it up again.

I tell my english teacher to shut up all the time but he's a butt head... I've never had to apologise to a teacher so I can't help you there.

 If only. I know one girl who stalks another girl because she argued that gays shouldn't be allowed to marry IN A DEBATE CLASS.

[QUOTE="StripTheSoul"]Why apologise for something you meant? To make her feel better? To make yourself look better? Pfft, just drop art anyway,nimatoad2000because regardless of being correct or not. telling someone to shut up is rude and uncalled for in any situation. swearing in an argument is pretty much auto defeat, that is why you do not see college debate teams talking sh!@ to each other. In a formal debate (not just arguing with a friend) that really shouldn't be done anyway. If he felt that his teacher should shut up for whatever the reason may be, and he doesn't honestly want to apologise except for the fact that it's "right", then he shouldn't bother. Sooner or later he will learn that certain people in life wont react well to a shut up and **** will get real. Until then, all the power to him. DOHOHOHOHO.

No. If someone is yelling that they are on fire (when they are not), you bet your ass I'm to tell them to stfu.

DOHOHOHOHO. in no situation whatsoever should someone tell another person to shut up. good manners do not allow it. also it pretty much tells the other person you do not respect them at all, and do not care for what they have to say. anyone in life who reacts " WELL" to being told to shut up, must have horrible self esteem to allow someone to say such a thing to them. regardless of if he believes in what he said, his argument, telling his teacher to shut up is extremely disrespectful especially since its a teacher and he is still a teenager in school. if the class is something where the teacher grades nonlinear, ( essay's and not X/100 scored tests) i am sure his grade will drop. somehow, ones opinion of others tends to DROP very low when you realize they have no respect for you, and thus i wouldn't be surprised if his teacher failed his essays because he suddenly decided that they were "not good"
Be very mature about it. And dont be emotional or anything. Just approach her when she's alone.( lunch or some kind of free time) And tell her your very sorry for your behavior earlier. And that it was completely out of line and disrespectful. And reassure her it wont ever happen again. Most teachers will understand.
