I ask because apparently 2 or 3 is too much. I have many friends who tell me they only eat 1 full plate for dinner and that's how they've done it their whole lives?

What about OT? Lets say your eating rice or pasta.

eating 2-3 plates for dinner has always been natural for me. But then again I almost always skip lunch, especially now since I dont bother in university or when at home.

I don't eat any plates for dinner. I hate eating a heavy meal late in the day so I usually just have an ensure with some fruit of a snack. My heaviest meal is usually my first meal and even then I only have 1 or 1 and a half plates.

Usually just one unless I'm at an all you can eat buffet or something. Try to count my calories and eat less carbs towards the end of the day.

Fruit is packed with carbs and sugar which can pack on weight at night. I'd recommend a salad or some veggies with a little protein like fish or chicken.

I don't think I eat a plateful of food for dinner. Of course, our dinner plates are quite big. Now, if it's like a little paper plate, I'd say, one plate.

It was different when I was in HS though. I can eat 2-3 (dinner plate) platefuls per meal and not gain any weight because of all my daily and weekly activities: varsity soccer plus cycling, swimming, and basketball.

I think that percentage (at least in the US) might be quite a bit lower considering the obesity rate in the US.

I try to eat one for dinner. It really depends on what I'm having for dinner, though. Some foods are a lot more filling and fattening than others. It also depends on the time of the year; I have a greater appetite in the winter than in the summer.

Completely depends what it is.  And I dont just fill a plate eat it, fill a plate, eat it.  Some stuff doesn't even reach my plate :P.  Anywhere from 1 - 3 I would say.  Probably at least 2 on average.  Man I am starving right now.  see ya :P.

PS - pasta is heavy so that can be something that I eat less of, but it still depends.  I love pasta though!

Let's see dinner last night........

A cup of Amish macaroni salad

A couple of chicken wings

A couple tall glasses of pineapple juice

Then, I wolfed down a dozen or so huge strawberries.

Not me. I can munch on iceberg lettuce, celery, and tomatoes raw, but not broccoli. For me, them broccoli better be soaked with melted cheese.

Raw broccoli? OH HELL TO THE NAH, I steam mine. For me to eat any of that other stuff it has to be mixed with something.

That's not really a good metric because a myriad of different factors boil down to plate sizes varying pretty substantially. Usually, I eat one plate, but it's a pretty solid plate. Occasionally a second serving of something on a second plate.

Two if the dinner's made in enough quantities. Otherwise, just one since we typically eat out of pre-packaged meals.

This.

The amount/kind of plates you use is logistics, not a method of quantification.

Depends on what you're eating, and how, the amount of plates used in a single meal can vary substantially.

I wonder what plate is most unhealthy to eat and can destroy your body the most, glass plates, plastic plates, or ceramic plates, or paper plates? I'm never gonna find that out. Oh yeah, and uh... 1? 1 food on a plate is all I usually eat.
