About sex. Just so we don't have any misunderstandings.

Well?

One day I was doing homework (I was 14) and my dad said, Hey....bud (long awkward pause), I want to talk to you about -"

"Nah, it's cool dad, I know."

He said thanks and left. I laughed my ass off after he walked out of the room.

That pretty much settled it. My father is a pretty quirky guy, so I figured I'd save him the emberassment.

There was no such talk. They were just always open about that stuff and it was probably explained to me at a very young age, but without the awkwardness. I don't really remember lol. I've been allowed to watch M and R rated movies since I was about 6 or 7.

When I got caught like a deer in headlights.

Let's just say my step-dad wasn't very pleased while giving me this lesson. Anywho, I wasn't really paying attention since I already learned about that stuff in 4th grade.

I don't think I got it. Maybe he knew I wouldn't have the balls to ask a girl out.

I'm 19 and I still haven't gotten the talk, mainly because Hollywood pretty much taught me what "it" is by definition.

Never got it. I pieced it together from discussions with friends at primary school. There's always that one kid who knows all about it.

They didn't. In fact, that conversation didn't come up in any shape or form. Except for storks. I'm grateful.

My parents assumed I knew long before I actually did know. They never asked me about it or anything. However, they had the opposite problem. My mom, for example, had her mom try to give her this talk the day before my mom was to be married.

Well it started like this.... I spent the night at my friends house one Saturday night when I was about 10 and there were some other kids staying over too (including the pastor of our church's son). Late at night we decided to turn to some "questionable programming" on the television. The next day we had to go to church and after the sermon was over,my dad came up to me flipping **** (all our families went to the same church). Apparently, the pastors son told his dad and his dad told all our parents. It was quite an intense car ride home (my dad has serious anger issues) and when we got home my parents sat down with me and asked "what do you already know". That was the worst part, telling them what I knew. It just felt so akward. After that they filled me in on some other things and it was over.....feelsbadman.

My parents never made a big deal about discussing sex with an official "talk", it just sorta happened at random times. My family is pretty open with each other about topics other families act all taboo about.

Never happened. Thanks parents, good to know you don't care enough to explain things like that to your own son and would rather let him use the internet and his friends as his source of info on that :/

After thinking about it, I definitely didn't get anything that resembles "the talk" from my father, but my mum was more open about those kinda things, and while she never purposely talked to me about sex, throughout my childhood she'd bring it up, so it was less awkward. I really don't understand how some people are so anti sex, to the extent were they'd lie to their children about it.

I was about 14. I was watching television and they both walked in, turned the tv off and said "We think it's time we told you about sex." Then they started telling me the whole process with very rigorous visual examples. 9 months later my sister was born.

They haven't actually had that talk with me yet. And I'm 19. Whenever I've had questions about sex or the likes, I could always go to my parents and ask, even though it was really awkward.

Not really. It's often a subject in television shows, but I don't know anybody that's actually had to endure it. People generally learn about sex through school or discovery.

Reversal in my case. When I was finally in High School, I was the one to ask THEM why had they never given me the 'talk'.

"We figured school or TV would teach you," they said.
