Homosexuality does it come into effect when the child is born?, or is it through life experience they have turned that way?
Beinga homosexual i believe we are born that way. I remember feeling attracted to guys from an early age.

Well, this looks like a fun thr.... *sprints out of thread*FragStains
*reclines in chair*
I say its nurture.....
My guess is that it can be either/or. I think probably some are born with their mind wired that way. In other instances, I can see how it's possible that certain events in someone's life (probably during younger years) could cause them to become homosexual, when otherwise they might not be. Just a guess.
Does it matter?
then how do siblings or even twins raised the same way end up having different preferences?I support gays in all ways, shapes, and forms, but I believe its entirely nurture. I dont think people are born straight or gay Its all about the enviroment they are raised in.

[QUOTE="xLFTMx"]then how do siblings or even twins raised the same way end up having different preferences? Because twins aren't exactly the same person. They both have minds of their own to pick their own preferencesI support gays in all ways, shapes, and forms, but I believe its entirely nurture. Because every brain is different. Presented with the same enviroment people might perceive it differently. Also, the enviroment cant be exactly the same of any two people unless its done in a scientific setting.

then how do siblings or even twins raised the same way end up having different preferences? Even among twins living together, no two people ever have the EXACT same experiences in life. If I'm in a meeting with 10 people, we all walk away from it with our own views and perspectives.Born that way like some animals..gene defect (or not) prob good now that we need population control i hope it is more prominant

How you percieve it could be at least partly because of your orientation.
So basically, was it the egg, or the chicken?
I think it's a little bit of both/depends on the case.
SkyWard20
Yeah id say its both as well. Ive seen people who can swear theyve felt that way their whole life and ive also met people who link it to events in their lives. I think everyone has seen the female turned lesbian because she's tired of dealing with men at one point time. So its def a mix and of course everything in between.
It's already been scientifically proven that gay people do not choose to be gay There's been a series of detailed scientific studies that prove this. Even then, using logical thinking, being gay disadvantages people in society. They'll be discriminated against, treated differently and perhaps even killed for simply being gay so it would make no sense for someone to choose to be gay as there is really no advantage to it.michaelP4
Being raised in an enviroment that led them to their sexual orientation doesn't mean that they simply chose to be gay I dont' think anyone here is saying that being gay is just a simple decision that someone makes.
I was born straight, so I can only assume that gay dudes are born gaythegerg
Pretty much this, i don't think there is a formula to turn gay.

Maybe a bit of both, some people are born that way and some people choose it based on the enviroment they are in. Isn't prison proof of this? Where most of the men who rape other men in prison gay before going in?

But, is she really a lesbian then? i don't think so, she is just choosing to be one, so it doesn't mean she really feel it.

Nah, that just make you retarded :)
I believe that it dosn't really matter either way.markop2003I disagree, especially if you're an advocate of gay rights. If people are gay by choice, then they aren't protected by the same discrimination rights as many other Americans. If however sexuality is genetic, then they are. Personally I believe that some gay people are born that way and others choose that lifestyle based on life experience and their environment.
I personally dont think it is...imo that would mean that homosexuality is a disease, which I dont believeHomosexuality does it come into effect when the child is born?, or is it through life experience they have turned that way?

Havn't you been paying attention to Lady Gaga? If she says they're," Born this way" then it must be true. She is they're leader after all. :P
Meh. I just think it was their sexual urge. Can't find a woman, so they spot the next target.... >.> Topic wise. Like what I've said. The environment people had turns them into homosexuals..... sometimes......Maybe a bit of both, some people are born that way and some people choose it based on the enviroment they are in. I believe born, because I remember a point in my life due to constant rejection by females, I wanted to be gay....but, that didn't turn out too well as soon as I saw the naked males body my member turned to silly putty.
I say born, but, doesn't matter.
homosexuality is not a disease if it's genetic, it's just one of the many traits that make up human beings. to a degree, what we are is determined by genes, no way around it. homosexuality is not inherently harmful, seeing as homosexuals have the exact same mental competence as everyone else.
Top secret liberal gay rays as part of a vast homosexual conspiracy to turn everyone gay Even the teletubbies are in on it. And that's why god hates America and allowed 9/11 to happen.
there are certain periods in history that had spikes in homosexuality. which leads me to believe that it's at least possible to influence someones sexuality with enviroment. but there might as well be genetic reasons. we just dont know yet.lloveLampMaybe in those periods homosexuality was more accepted by society, thus more people felt free to come out of the closet.
People are born that way. I have an older relative who is gay and he was secretly gay back as early as the 1960's. He grew up, and lived most of his life in a middle class, family values suburbs. Not exactly the haven of gay culture that would give him homosexual experiences.
