I am in a big slump financially and emotionally atm. I cannot find a woman to love on me or a job I love to do. I hear military people have a sense of accomplishment and pride after serving their contry so I thought maybe I should join to boost my ego. I am scared though of dying or getting PTSD. Have you ever seriously thought about joining the military or other armed forces? I think I'll have better time with women if I go and build my confidence up. I am tired of being a slumbag.

Yeah, but then I remember that I hate the country I live in and that I would never want to represent it.

I think it can be a great thing to serve in the armed forces but don't rely on the military to change you and tell you who you are. You can change yourself, you just have to make the effort. With that said, yes, I have taken seriously consideration into joining the Marines; got to MEPS and they DQ'd me because of my hearing.

I've thought about it, but I can't because I have diabetes. Which means instant disqualification. Otherwise I probably would have tried to enlist.

I was thinking about it for a short while, but I remembered that my dad was a plane mechanic for a long time and I don't want to be a plane mechanic, so that made up my mind. Wouldn't want to be in the Marines or Army because they get deployed into dangerous areas. Navy is boring being stuck on a ship.

That's the reason to join? Easier in.....though I wouldn't join for a reason like that.

Is your 4 years the cumulative of your playing time of COD 1, 2 & 3 or did you have to serve some of that time in SOCOM and Ghost Recon too?

I personally never thought about joining the military primarily because I do not believe in the current wars and would not want to risk my life for such causes. I strongly respect those that do risk their lives everyday though. Huge sacrifice for both themselves and their loved ones.

Do not join the military because you want to get girls.

If you want to get girls, just work out. Or develop some confidence.

While I have never been a part of it myself, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the military is not eHarmony.

The military is great for building confidence but if you are hoping it will get you laid then you're joining for the wrong reason. Don't get me wrong, people do get laid due to the uniform. But nine times out of ten, those girls who are sleeping with you just because you're in the military are just after your money.
