So has anyone checked it out yet? The book I mean, I'm going to assume nobody got a chance to go to the actual stage production.

Anyway, I thought it was pretty bad. Bad fan fiction tier bad even. The time travel plot was just lazy and cliche and all the charm and fun and atmosphere of the original books were absent.

Isn't it just the script?

yes, that doesn't excuse it for a having a weak story and weak dialogue though. especially when it's $25

so the story is bad too?

I can get through weak dialogue and stuff like that with a lot of eye rolling, but if I get to the end of a book (or play or whatever) and the story just is not whole or nonsensical I feel I wasted a lot of time.

I think lazy would be the best word.

I wasn't aware at first the J.K. didn't even write the thing. So that's why it had a different feeling than her normal writing, just cuz it wasn't actually her writing. I can give it a pass to an extent because reading a play isn't going to be the same as reading a novel.

However, the villain was such a stretch to me that I can't even believe it. In my opinion Voldemort would not have been capable of or interested in a physical relationship because he was so messed up. And for her to be hanging around all those years doing nothing, plus the time traveling to solve things, ugh. I certainly didn't love it. It was sort of entertaining but the Harry Potter magic wasn't there. I hated Albus Severus but really liked Scorpius. So much family drama.

The play itself is meant to be very good, I'vs bought the screenplay but haven't gotten around to reading it
