After that watch Full Metal Panic Fumoffu - it's a spin-off. Characters are the same but story is more comedy oriented. It's the funiest anime I watched in my entire life.

Perverted stuff, lots of sexual inuendo. HOTD imo is way over the top with it, but the show still manages to be enjoyable. Best I can do to describe it is an anime version of zombie B movies.

berserk is one of the few animes i was like wtf at the end, with claymore and code geass. You should watch it, problem is its very old now.

Berserk is a more old school dark anime but I'd definitely reccomend it. Haven't watched anime in a while but Berserk was really really good from what I remember.

ok, a couple of my favorite animes were Code Geass, FMA Brotherhood, Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing, and Death Note.... if that helps narrow it down :)

Gurren Lagann is another good one. Neon Genesis Evangelion is good too, but the ending really sucks.

Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad. It's about a band trying to hit it big. Go on youtube or hulu and watch the first episode. It's a great show, I put it in my top five.

These aren't animes filled with action sequences, neither do they have more than 25 eps per season. Some of my personal fav animes I have experienced are listed here, if you are looking for something different than the conventional mainstream anime series, do give them a look.

If you like Cowboy Bebop, then watch Samurai Champloo. Same director, pure awesomeness!

Gintama if you like comedy and Hunter x Hunter if you want a good story shounen (better than One piece, Naruto, Bleach and Fairy Tale imo)

First season of Darker than Black is good.

The second season is indescribably terrible.

But the first one is really, really good.

What he said. It's okay to be a fan of something, but not an obsession. Do you really want to be the fat guy cosplaying Sasuke? Really? No, you don't.

That being said, about 98% of this list is worth seeing (ignore **** like Hyakka Ryouran, Togainu no Chi, Dragon Crisis! and to an extent Onii-chan no Koto because that sucked apart from some characters when they were the focus of the ep. So about 3 or 4 episodes out of 13 are worth seeing, not the rest)

Kind of an old post but I had to respond to it. I started reading Fairy Tail and liked it and continued even though there were signs that it was going in the wrong direction but after reading todays chapter all I have to say.

Probably the worst manga ever! The entire series is just fan service the only reason I read it was because of the interesting powers could make for great fights which it did at first but now its to the point where its just a softcore porn manga with maybe 1 or 2 chapter long battle for variety, I've made up my mind to discontinue reading Fairy Tail.

On topic: Hajime no Ippo and One Piece are great but OP is very long and it starts slow but consistently gets better after every arc.

Honestly, the only anime I can stand is Ghost in the Shell; everything else is just this terrible. It's either pandering to dorky/nerdy males who can live through the anime and feel like super heros, has some stupid female lead character in overly revealing clothing going "Suki-chan, hehehe" and giggling or gasping at every turn, extremely violent or macho in some way. That said I do like anime movies, mostly Miyazaki's stuff which I think is wonderfully animated, adventerous, innocent and just all around fun to watch. And of course Ghost in the Shell which I like because it's (somewhat)realistic and smart without being overly macho or portaying females overly sexualised.

Sounds like all you've watched is shonen and slice of life shows. Try watching Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ergo Proxy, Serial Experiments Lain, Texhnolyze, Jin-Roh, and Grave of the Fireflies. It's all right up your alley. Even Evangelion which will, admittedly, at first seem like everything you hate but by the end becomes one of the most cerebral and intelligent anime out there.

I liked hikaru no go, not sure if its your type of anime or not, its a bit older
