SOURCE

Romney wins big, securing both Arizona and Michigan. All the while the media was, basically, predicting his doom. Hopefully Santorum and Gingrich will drop out and stop making Romney waste all of his money on them.

What say you, OT supporters of Romney? How does it feel?

The whole point of this primary is to pick the individual best suited at beating Obama.

It feels like the more the candidates bicker with each other, the more ammunition Obama has to secure his re-election.

And Romney's botched healthcare attempt in Massachusetts is a curse that continues to drag him down.

-

In my opinion Romney seems much more sensible than Santorum, who makes some absolutely absurd comments regarding social issues.

He also seems better than Newt...an old Washington crony who's been stagnating in Congress ever since the late 70s.

-

But why do you prefer Romney over Ron Paul, besides the fact that Ron Paul has no realistic chance at getting nominated?

To answer the OP, I'm glad that Romney is making strides towards the nomination.

But the real question is whether or not he has the potential to actually beat Obama.

It will sure make the GOP look like hypocrites after their 2004 "flip-flop" campaign against Kerry. Fine with me though.

Yeah, he barely squeaked by victories. I support the guy but let's not overstate what happened.

Bascially, Santorum is proving how split the conservative party is right now.

I don't know that I would use the word brilliant, but he's definitely intelligent. Well-spoken, educated, calculating, perhaps Machivellian might synthesize all of those best. Even the moon comment, he might have thought it would be somewhat akin to President Kennedy calling for a moon landing. I think that was deifinitely a miscalculation given the current economy, but I don't think it was a move made out of stupidity, in fact maybe he was overthinking things.

from on outside of american view i have been following ur guys republican debates for a bit now on and off now and honsestly from my viw any ways(probally not the same as u americans) it seems to me that none of the republicans have a chance of beating Obama. Romney is far too similar to obama ,the chubby guy that starts with a G dosent have the public looks and appeal, Santorm or whatever he is called is a crazy lunatic when i heard his foregn policiy i was actually scared ,and Ron Paul even tho i belive in most of what he says has no chance of getting the republican nom. you being a romney supporter OP it seems its all for nothing because he will lose in the presidential election to obama most likely

Romney may be looking better now but in November he is going to pay the price of pandering to the extreme right wing of the Republican party. His statements on contraception and personhood that have been so similar to Santorum will push away the moderates and independents that may have supported him.

It's very important to note that participation in many of these primaries is down compared to four years ago. I do think that Romney has the best chance to be President Obama, but Romney really has to step up his game and stop making dumb off the cuff statments like "The trees are the right height" or "My wife drives several Cadillacs". Romney needs the blue collar workers to win, and he's no representing himself well to them.

In all seriousness, I think Romney is a joke along with Gingrich and Santorum.

I don't have much faith in Obama or Paul either but I think to say Romney is the best for America doesn't sit right with me at all.

I don't care for Romney and I don't care for Obama too much eiter. I honestly cannot understand how people can support politicians, do you ever stop and realise what that means?

There is a difference between voting for someone and supporting them, you can vote for someone but that doesn't mean your all gun ho about it.

If Romeny wins the nominee (wich he will) and IF he were to win the election, it wouldn't matter. It would be no different than Obama or Bush administration, these guys arn't going to change anything, I can't understand why people think they will.

I find it funny how the GOP sole goal is to simply kick Obama out of office, rather than actually try to reduce the debt ect....

We don't need Romney and we don't need Obama, we don't need Republicans and we don't need Democrats, what we need to do is demand better men for the role of public offices and then we need to show them that WE are in charge, they work for us, not the other way around.

Do one of those street polls that Stossel always does and ask people what the DNR is. You'll be in the minority of people who know what that stands for.

the real problem is the ---ing joke the process of picking a president has become... it's a 24/7 media circus that goes on for months that exposes each and every personal and political flaw and shines a glaring light on every hypocrisy and contradiction the person has said in their public life. the people crazy enough and skilled enough to even want to go though that and try to navigate that minefield where you have to kiss every potential voters ass by trying to appeal to each person when everyone is different aren't necessarily the person that would be best suited for the job as president. they're just the best person that can make it though that particular gauntlet we present to the them...

The most depressing aspect of this GOP field is the "Our way or the highway" mentality. The entered this election cycle with "Obama is evil and bad for America, and our way is better" in conjunction with Congree refusing to do anything in order to make the President look like a failure.

Leaders at all levels should be flexible and consider all side, not refuse to legislate or govern just because they don't like who is in charge.
