Favorite Metal Genre?

So, you might like metal, but you probably have a favorite sub-genre as well. I'd also be interested in hear what genre you like the least.

My favorite is sludge. I can't stand metalcore however.

Heavy and ... Glam

Oh there are so many that I love. Doom metal, Thrash, Viking metal, Pirate Metal, Mago de Oz metal, epic metal like Rhapsody, whatever Lamb of god is, mainstream black metal (Cradle, Dimmu and such) I could go on.

Thrash/death/power/heavy

Thrash, Black, Death, Heavy are my main 4 genres. Anything underground and extremely filthy I like.

Well, the only metal band I like is Ministry, so I'm going to go with Industrial Metal.

I like my coffee black, just like my metal.

Favorite are Death Metal and Progessive Metal

Its a tossup between Queensryche Prog (none of this Dream Theater stuff) and Symphonic, with Power following close behind.

My four main are Heavy, Melodic Death, Death and Thrash...I'm slowly getting into Black Metal now too, it took a few listens to Bathory, Venom, Wolves in the Throne Room, Immortal and Marduk, but I'm starting to like it a lot now...

I dislike all metal that ends in core, whether it's deathcore, metalcore, grindcore, crabcore, or any other stupid core. I also dislike Glam/Hair metal and industrial metal...and if there was one band I could get rid of in the metal genre it would be Bezerker....

Symphonic Power, you can't get anything better than that, well, at least for me.

when I first heard of folk metal I laughed, now I can't go a day without it. Also I find the culture behind black metal riveting and enhances my enjoyment of that sub-genre. One more mention to drone or ambient, not sure thats correct genre but just different weird stuff (Sunn o))), Isis, ulver, ahab, etc.)

My favorite is Symphonic Metal, no contest. Second would probably be Gothic or Power Metal, and I also like all the Melodic variants of the metal sub-genres.

The only ones I don't really like are Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal, and the -cores.
