Favorite Guitar Solos

Well I really like when guitar solos have emotion into them and not just technique, which is why I enjoy all of Kirk's solos. I don't want to post all of Metallica's solos though.

There are sooooo many solos that I like. All Robert Plant's solos are just epic. But I'm going to go for something more simple: The solo of Hysteria by Muse. Breathtaking...

Its old and very hard to find, but back in about 1985 or so, Prince had a concert video for Purple Rain Live. In it, he had a 20 minute guitar solo. The first part was acoustic, then the band playe while he switched guitars and he started just KILLING it with his trademark electric guitar (the one in the movie).

Best solo ever.

I have been trying to find a good copy of that video forever. Since it was on VHS at the time, the quality is sometimes crappy by now.

PS, I should have said he KILLED IT during the acoustic solo as well. It was just as good as the electric part, maybe better.

I don't know if it would count, but the solo in Aerodynamic by daft punk is brilliant.

Well tbh it is weird that most people - even those that say that they are into music and dont just stick to the famou songs of a band - know the Scorpions only from their well-known songs and too few bother to listen to In Trance, Taken By Force or Fly to the Rainbow. :(
