I have to say Williams Shakespeare since I learned so much from him.-DarthMaul-
He write's plays though, yes the same as a book and all, but still, I don't know if he counts, he is an EXCELLENT playwright though, I've also learned a crapload from the guy in english classes, we read quite a bit of his plays.
I'm kind of surprised no one has said George Orwell, I love his books, and I've only read 2 (yes, 1984 and Animal Farm.)
J.K. Rowling, William Shakespeare, T.S. Eliot, Barack Obama, Edgar Allan Poe....
Least favorite: Any Puritan, Thoreau, Emerson...eh...I can't see why Thoreau and Emerson are supposedly "great"...We're dealing with them in my Am Lit class now, and I haven't read any of their essays completely...They are not only difficult, but annoying to read, and they read like some super smart guy ranting about how he knows what everyone else should do...
