Do you support Abortions?

I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this.

My thoughts? I think that abortion should only be considered if the birth can lead to your partners death. Aside from that, I really don't see why someone could cheat a child from life. It just sounds like the most selfish act I could ever think of. If anything, I feel that the child should be given up for adoption at the very least.

In fact, after seeing the move "Juno", I would totally consider adopting at least one child that fell into a situation like the teenage girl in that movie.

How about you all? What are your thoughts?

Only in the case of necessity, where the mother's life takes precidence over the fetus.

To correct a mistake, though, hell no. Sex is a responsibility and it has consequences - abortion makes a convenient out in this age of selfishness, but my god, if you're worried about that then keep your legs shut.

Although I oppose abortion on the grounds that people shouldn't be able to play the selfish card and hack the mistake out of their vagina at a moment's notice, there's also the fact that many girls who get pregnant by mistake probably won't make the best mothers and will only increase the burden on our already scarred society.

Of course, then you get into the area of fixing people in various walks of life and the ethical dilemma of doing so, on the off-chance that some drugged up chick actually gives birth to someone who grows up to do something important. Whatever the chances of that would be.

I believe you should not have sex until your are sure your ready to carry a child around and have the ability to raise that child. Cause there is always that chance you will get pregnant. And lets face it. Sex=babies!

I only support abortions for the women who want them to freely be able to choose to have them. Freedom of choice is something self-righteous people seem to want to take away from others so they can feel better about themselves.

If I were with someone and she got "accidentally" pregnant I would never consider abortion or adoption. I am the kind of person who steps up and accepts responsibility for the things I do and would support both the mother and child to the best of my abilities...foxhound_fox

Exactly.

Rape-babies should be put up for adoption if the mother doesn't want to raise them. Abortion should only be allowed when the mother's life is threatened. Then it's self-defense.
