  • Beer - in a glass
  • Vodka - plain shots
  • Tequila - shots with salt/lime
  • Whiskey (Bourbon/Scotch) - in a glass or shots, maybe with coke
  • Gin - with tonic and lime

I don't really like the other liquors enough to buy them.

I only drink beer or single-malt scotch whisky; neat. If it's cask strength, I might add a couple of drops of water, but not typically. Nothing ruins a dram, in my opinion, more than ice.

I might do a shot of patron or something every once in awhile or drink one beer while I'm out or something like that but for the most part I don't touch anything that has the potential to lower my inhibitions.

I need my inhibitions. So so much...

If I'm drinking for an extended period of time, I will mix with diet soda or water. I enjoy everything more straight or on the rocks though. And I will drink any and every beer.

Football games - Beers like Bells Two Hearted and then any light beer when the buzz hits
Gaming nights - Vodka and Gatorade is my go to. Sometimes Grey Goose and Surge when I'm playing shooters all night
Weekends - Scotch or Whiskey on the rocks
Parties/bar nights - Vodka and water, Rum and Diet Coke, beer when I need to slow down

I'm cutting waaaaaaay back in 2017 though. As I get older, hangovers get harder and harder to overcome

Why would you buy a high end vodka and mix it to disguise the quality?

I like it. I'm not trying to disguise anything. And I like to stay hydrated. If I drank Goose straight while gaming things would go bad quickly.

I did. I deactivated my account but decided I would come back. It was taking the mods too long to tell me if I could get it back or not so I started all over.

I prefer not drinking it at all, the downsides usually far outweigh the positives. Waste of money better spent elsewhere.

I drink beer, vodka, and tequila as is.

I tried gin for the first time like 2 weeks ago. Had it with ginger ale. Didn't expect to get really drunk from it.

I do like my occasional mixed drink, like Moscow mule.

I drink beer in the bottle or a glass, wine from the bottle or glass, and hard alcohol mixed. For some reason the last 4-5 years, if I take liquor shits, or drink it on the rocks or neat, I end up puking, no matter how little.

@PSP107:

Fair enough, a drink or 2 on occasion when I get together with my friends in Delaware every 4 months or so, usually Yuengling or Sam Adams.......I did most of my drinking before I was 21 lol. I find no real use for it now, just negatives. I try to keep myself quite healthy since beating Cancer.

Maybe you should do a little research into the issue. Regular use of proper levels of alcohol is beneficial to health.

True. My dad used to drink daily on moderate basis for he had sleeping problems, as prescribed by Doctor :)

BTW, do you drink daily yourself? :)

I've all but given up on brown liquor. I've tried it all, even dropped money on and have been offered some really premium shit...just doesn't do much for me.

I like my hard alcohol mixed with stuff, on ice. Not too sweet. I love my mojitos, moscow mules, greyhounds, margaritas (on the rocks only! fresh lime juice!) etc.

Fruit juice and clear alcohol mmm mmm mmm

that's assuming I am not drinking beer, though, which is my alcohol of choice 99.9% of the time.

I've never been a fan of the drink but on the off occasion I do have one it's usually bourbon on the rocks. I'm trying to remember the last time I had a drink and, well, I can't. It's probably been a couple of years at this point. Crazy. Maybe it's time for a few sips.

i answered it.

But to clarify then, i prefer to drink pure water with no alcohol in.

Better?

Bourbon can (not always, kinda depends on proof) benefit from a very small amount of water. If it's a weaker bourbon around 40% that has a very soft flavor I don't necessarily recommend it, but if it's a heavier proof or it just has a really strong burn I suggest about a 1/4 teaspoon or less of water which can allow you to taste more flavors.

I love spirits and wine. I stay away from beer because I don't like the full feeling I get from it (it's a shame because micro breweries are on every corner here in Colorado)

As far as my spirits, I tend to do a combination of seltzer water and ice. I love my vodka and seltzer, Absolut being my favorite brand. I recently had firefly vodka, seltzer water, a spritz of lemon juice, and ice. That was amazing.

Can anyone recommend me some whiskey? I've just started to really come to love it on the rocks, although my friend gifted me some whiskey stones. I've always loved crown (the vanilla one is awesome) and I recently got into Leopold Brother's line up (especially the apple blend). I want to try a bottle of Stranahan's, it is 50 at liquor store nearby, but I'm not quite sold on it. The ice cream shop I go to makes an ice cream with Stranahan's whiskey brickle in it and it is easily my favorite ice cream flavor ever, thus my interest in the whiskey itself. I figured, if I get a promotion at my job, I'll buy a bottle as a self gift.

I'm an equal opportunity alcohol consumer but lately I've been drinking whiskey with apple juice. It's a nice combo, and not as acidic as vodka and oj, also I used to mix with soda but then I was drinking way too much soda.

I saw a commercial for that, it's what inspired me to get an apple whiskey in the first place. I'll have to pick some up at the store in the next few weeks.
