i dont talk wierd to my cats...i just get mad when my fatass one always takes up the whole couch and when i move him he will just go back and on my head...Id like to get some peace time when i watch football

They really do... as a puppy they recognize through their mom that a high pitched voice = good and deep growl = bad I can correct my dog with a deep voice without having the need to shout at her. Heck, shouting at your dog just gets them excited most of the time since it sounds like you're barking with them or to them.

Well, I haven't had a dog in years now. But when I did, he was deaf for most of my life, so I didn't talk to him much.

nope! I always think that my dog can understand just not speak; so if someone talks like an idiot to him he would be like "wow you are such an idiot, talk normal" so i talk normal to him:P

Yea sometimes when I used to own cats because it was just too hard for me to talk normal to them. Now I don't have any pets ;_;

I resent how you phrased it "talk like an idiot to your pets" My pets are my babies and I talk to them like they are my babies :3 Why? Do you talk to your pets like they are adults which understand your every word? Do you have cognitive discussions with them? My cat talks to me, and she goes meewwwwww and I go meeeoooooowwwwww and she goes purrrrr and I go prrrrrrrrrr :3

my dog is medium sized, but hes pretty damn smart!
i talk to him normally when hes bored, he listens lol
