Occasionally. I went to a very small school so they would know if you skipped and something might be done.

Theres plenty of things to do :|. The few times I did skip I left school and get food, one time I went golfing. Kids I know used to go home and play video games, hang out in other classrooms, go to the gym and play basketball, go to all the lunches etc.

I missed class by mistake once. But, that was because I was confused by the schedule. It was a nice one hour lunch period.

On really nice days I'd skip to go disk golfing. I rarely received detention for it because I somehow always managed to stay on the vice principle's good side, meaning he'd buy most of the excuses I made up for being absent.

We had security guards at our doors - you can't just walk out and roam around like you can on a college campus.

Not in HS. Not much to do unless I was going to drive away and then I mine as well just not go to school that day. In college I have skipped some but really not that much. School is a job like anything else and you do what you have to do.

My school would always call your parents and have a "chat" with you if you missed a class. Senior year, thou, I was the TA for the attendance lady and she let my absences slide. i ditched quite a handful of classes that year.

I edited my post in the sig. requests thread.

I skipped many classes in high school especially P.E. because I was running late in music class andhad to finish the piece before the recital. I took five music courses as elective courses and they were needy. A three month course isn't enough to play a piece decently so what if mastering it. My music teachers used to sign on permission papers so that I excuse myself from some classes too.

the second semester of my senior year of highschool, I had all of my credits and college acceptance, so I spent about the last month sleeping, playing videogames, watching t.v. and hanging out with friends who were in a similar situation.

Nope, I never bothered to. I just went to class and then went home. I never felt the need. It just meant more problems later.

nope never did. closest to skipping a class i got was skipping a pep rally and goin to my friends house.

we usually had guards at our school, so was kinda hard to leave school grounds.

instead of skipping a class, i just faked an illness and never went to school in the first place. did that 10 times during the school year. if you miss more than 10 days without a doctors note, you lose all your credits for the semester. stupid.

Yep, same here. Sometimes I skip classes I don't enjoy because I'm forced to take it, but I have a pretty clean attendance at my college.....you get booted out of a class if you miss more than 3 days a semester, anyway. And it has a 15% graduation rate. Hmm.......................errr

I occasionally embellished upon how badly I was feeling to my mother and essentially skipped whole days from time to time. Most of those times I was either barely sick or not sick at all, just merely depressed or exhausted. I only skipped a class once in high school. It was the last month of my senior year and I decided that I wanted to do something bad! I skipped my band class because I knew I could get away with it. You know what I did during that period? I sat in the library.

My mentality is "as long as I learn the information I need to learn, I don't need to go to class"...class is more like a supplement for me most learning comes from doing the work outside of classes imo.

Yeah, plus a 2 hour detention for every 1 hour of unexcused absence kinda made it not worth it.

All the time. There wasn't a week where I diden't skip a full day and usually I would skip at least one class a day on average when I went. Typically it was PE that I would skip as it was the hour before lunch and I wanted to have a longer lunch.

All I ever really did though was just go get high. Needless to say I failed high school and had to get my GED since I missed so much of it and most of my grades were F's. Always made me laugh that getting my GED only took 2 days and 5 hours total in time (which they divided up). Diden't even have to study it was just a cake walk

Once in a while. It was pretty stupid though, nothing all that interesting to do. One time, it was -30 or something and snowing hard, and our PE class was supposed to WALK about 3 km down the road and up a steep, icy hill to get to a skating rink. Myself, along with half a dozen other people, just decided to say **** it, and left. We ended up having to be outside most of the period anyway, so it would have been no better than walking to the arena, aside from the hill.

lol, I don't think I was ever on time for 1st period. Woke up at 7:50 AM, and got to school at 8:25 (school starts at 8:00AM. I made sure my 1st period was some BS class like TV production.

Meh. I may have gotten an excuse for being late from my parents, and gone in WAY later, but thats about it.
