i did, but not because of Apple fanboyism or any of the System-War bull$hit type stuff either.
only thing Apple i own is an Iphone 4 (still have no upgraded to 4S or 5) and i really love it.
at my house i got access to Ipad 1 and 2 (my brothers), Nexus 7 (my dad), and Kindle Fire (my mom)
what i was looking for was the Apple OS's, Apple's store (which i like their selection the best, in quantity with quality), while also using the smaller form factor like the Nexus and Kindle. well.. it takes the form of the Ipad Mini.
does what i'm looking for in a tablet. the fact that it's got a slightly older A5 chip and no retina doesn't dissuade me either. it's not for gaming or very resource heavy applications, and i'm a technophile who requires the absolute best in visuals.
In regards to it's price, yeah i wished it was lower but i was under no dillusions, i bought (and really love) the PS Vita, and i only regretted buying the over-priced PSP Go becuase support dried up very fast for it. both those handhelds i really liked, and both times Sony insists on pricing at premium. Apple plays the same game.
it doesn't do me any good to spend less, for better quality hardware, if there is less stuff that i want/need to do on it (reliably as well).
