"Today the company Chevy has announced that their line of automobiles are going into the next phase of their re-imaging plan to gain higher popularity and attract more consumers." "Chevy has said that they now need to make their cars stand-out more by adopting a set of objectives that "Modernize" their cars while the competition remains traditional. Only one of these has been revealed: All Chevy products excluding their Pickup lines will install automatic "Butterfly" doors on all Chevy related automobiles. This also includes automatic Seat belts and having the doors connect to the seats, so if you were to open the door, the Seat would arrange slightly towards the door so you can get out and in without much of a inconvenience." "General motors also took notice of this plan and said that bringing automobiles into the future and more "Modernized" at current prices would bring in a lot more revenue." "Chevy reported the only cuts they have to make to keep costs low for this plan is a new type of engine, using different seat belt materials, and using lower end bulit in electronic components (Radio, heating and air conditioning to name a few.)" "Chevy calmed down concerns from investors and customers when they said the 15 objects that will either be taken out or cut to maintain the new plan will still be just as reliable and said that 3 brands of Chevy will be using these so far and soon all of them will. So far we have confirmed the Malibus will be using them, and each have had 4 star safety ratings. Plans to Mass produce and having them replace all current Malibus will take affect at the end of 2012. Within the next few months however some Chevy stores in highly populated cities or areas, such as new york, or Las Vegas, will already have these cars by Sept." Wow, so we will all be flying in our cars now.

Do butterfly doors have less resistance to side impacts than normal doors due to the different design? If not, then I guess it looks cool.

Why not? Buy American!! Even if the parts come from mexico and china, and are assembled by indians.

On a side note, I didn't know those kind of doors were called butterfly doors.

There is no "Chevy company" anymore, it's a General Motors brand.

Nice try there.

It was on the posts website, which also was on the Physical post, but Chevy is telling them to take it down and then post the full article when they put it on the official site. Of course from what I saw they didn't actually complain about the article itself so something tells me the article must not have been exaggerated, meaning wow. Then again, they did sue someone for leaking the bungee jump ad and the jump over giant skateboard ad.

How does the above not make sense? If a hacker leaks information it's cool but when the newspaper leaks information it is unbelievable.

The news article posted those as examples of what their cars would look like. have you ever read a news article before? Most info here is made by sites on freewebs.

If a news article were to use those pics, they wouldn't still have the magazines logo on them.

Chevy=Chevy magazine, why would they not use previous pictures to show what you would expect? Do you ever read news articles or at the very least know anything about marketing? Even rd grade level?

don't see the big deal. those doors would make tight parking spaces less of a hassle. and so what if it makes the vehicle look a little silly. the doors are closed most of the time, anyway. but, if someone's that petty...plently of other car companies to chose from.

i dont see the appeal of butterfly doors. if ur car flips over onto it's back, won't u be trapped in it because the doors wont be able to open?
