I use both at different times. It just depends where I am.

I keep a little bit of cash for buying small items at convenience stores, but I generally use debit. I get unlimited transactions and not having to lug change around with me is a wonderful thing.

I use cash unless I'm making a large purchase or don't have enough on me for some reason.

I'd rather not leave a paper trail of my purchases. I really don't trust banks or anyone else who deals with personal information.

Almost everywhere I go they accept credit, so that's what I use. I'm not comfortable carrying around large quantities of cash and using a credit card is more reliable and easier to keep track of purchases. That and by the time a mugger can use your card, you'll have cancelled it. If they get cash, there is nothing you can do to get it back.

I only use cash when I can't use my credit card, which is seldom. The credit card pays reward points, cash doesn't. It's a no-brainer for me. But like any smart consumer, I never carry a balance on the credit card, as the rewards then become totally meaningless in the face of exorbitant interest rates.

I use cash because I have no choice, but in the future I will use debit for grocery shopping and stuff and use cash for small things.

I'll usually pay cash, unless I don't have (enough) money on me or while buying something online

I try to use cash as much as possible because I hate keeping track of my account (writing it down, etc.) and also because my mom likes to take a peek at where I'm purchasing things every now and again.

Debit most of the time unless I don't know how much I have in the bank and forgot my password to check my account. This happens way too often for my own good.

This says it all. Not meant to brag but so far by using cc we have gotten plane tickets, 2 GPS devises, gift cards, cash rebates, magazines etc... all for free. The trick is to never ever carry a balance on it.

Sweet. For my part, I've been awarded about $900 of free food since I started using a credit card. Some programs pay a slightly higher percentage, but I'm not interested in what they offer. Air miles, for instance, would be useless to me.

I've been using my debit card exclusively for about 3 years now. I keep about $40 in my wallet just in case. Debit card is awesome because there's no change to keep up with.

Haha that's my reaction at first, but as the rewards keep on coming we went with the "why don't we just go along with whatever we are getting?" mentality and have done things we probably wouldn't have done. Recently we use the airline tickets to go to San Francisco with the GPS and rented a car there.... we had so much fun driving around the place:D Without the GPS we would've gotten so hopeless lost in San Francisco

Yes I use cash unless I'm buying a game off Steam. Other than that, cash everywhere I go.

My mum gives me money in cash, and laziness prevents me from ever putting it on my account at the bank, so I generally pay by cash, but if I don't have any I do have savings on my debit card. For anything where a debit card could be used, I still probably pay cash 85% of the time.

Where I live cash is the main source of payment. I don't even have a credit or debit card here. I pay everything with cash. I use my American debit card to makes purchases online through Amazon or other sites, but that's about it.
